# Tech Fellow Training
## Overview and Policies
### Course Description
Our goal in this training is to provide Tech Fellows with the tools, skills, experience, and community necessary to lead in-person CodePath courses on their campus. You'll meet and collaborate with other members of the CodePath Tech Fellow community from many different campuses and cohorts. For Tech Fellows who have not previously taken the course themselves, you'll ramp up your skills quickly by completing all labs and assignments for your course
### Sessions
All Tech Fellows will complete the [How to Teach at CodePath](https://courses.codepath.org/courses/how_to_teach_at_cp/pages/bootcamp_structure), which focuses on creating a welcoming classroom environment and effectively engage students in the learning process and support a community and classroom effectively. We'll also cover how to motivate students and use all of our internal tools. You'll also attend the Technical Training, which is a shortened, intense version of the class you'll be running.
### NEW Tech Fellows & RETURNING Tech Fellows
[How to Teach at CodePath](https://courses.codepath.org/courses/how_to_teach_at_cp/pages/bootcamp_structure): You will learn how to:
* Accurately summarize how adults learn

* Understand how to facilitate active and engaged learning for online and in person learning environments

### Tech Support
Post to the Discussions System as you run into technical issues going through the labs and assignments!
The Discussions System is our in-house version of Stack Overflow. Post and post often; no question is too big or too small! Everyone-- students and Tech Fellows should try to answer questions as well.
### Session Attendance
The remote video sessions are a key aspect of what makes this training more then just an "online course" and we've designed each session to be fun, informative and highly interactive! We've observed a profound link between attendance and overall success in ALL our courses, so to get the most out of this experience, attending each and every session is essential!
### Missing a Session
If you MUST miss a session due to some unavoidable event (like an alien abduction 👽🚀), make sure to take the following actions so you don't fall behind or let down your group.
Let us know about the missed session ahead of time and reach out to staffsupport@codepath.org directly to request an absence.
* Watch the video of the recorded session.
* Complete the weekly labs and assignments by their posted deadlines.
* Send an email to staffsupport@codepath.org (cc seaney@codepath.org and your Tech Fellow Managers) with the following:
* (1 paragraph) Summarize the key points of the facilitator training.
* (1 paragraph) Identify at least one strategy or take-away that stood out to you, and explain how you will use it in your class
* Check in with other Tech Fellows from your campus to make sure you are up to date with any new developments.
### Tech Fellow Responsibilities and Tasks
