# Timeline
### scikit-image project: narrative documentation
Week 1:
- Integrate into the scikit-image community
- Set up dev env
- Get familiar with contribution workflow
- Establish the project timeline with mentors (weekly meetings, goals, reports, etc.)
Week 2:
- Study the existing gallery examples pertaining to biomedical applications
- Get familiar with bioimage data analysis workflows
- Learn the basics of image processing by practising (following code-along tutorials, reading documentation, etc.)
Week 3:
- Study [SegCompare](https://mosaic.gitlabpages.inria.fr/publications/seg_compare/)
- Investigate its relevance to our 3D images of embryonic development
- Start with one frame and with the [non-DL pipeline](https://mosaic.gitlabpages.inria.fr/publications/seg_compare/descriptions/mars_pipeline.html)
Week 4:
- Study the scientific context of the particular application
- Find (choose) a definition for "growth velocity"
- Create a draft structure for the narrative documentation example
Weeks 5 and 6:
- Try out various image processing pipelines
- Compare results
- Discuss relevance to our tutorial
- Brainstorm (use collaborative documents to draft notes)
Weeks 7 and 8:
- Submit a pull request to add the tutorial to the example gallery
- Address reviews, reiterate
- Finalise the document
Weeks 9 to 12:
- Consider writing another tutorial or building up on this one
- Finish up previously neglected tasks
Week 13:
- Complete and evaluate project
- Document journey as an intern (blog posts, etc.)
