# Contributors - How to pay them, how to incentivise them?!

Consultation
- survey them on their needs *(HM: who? Might it be that we're trying to catch ghosts a bit as we're trying to connect with people who we don't actually know as a collaborator yet).*
- find out what other teams are doing
Monitoring
- via Eventsforce / Flexigrant
## Incentivisation ideas
**Low effort** :low_brightness:
- fast track application process
- VM: this is complicated because it means starting a 2-tiered system
- places on training courses
- VM: related to the above
- networking and forming connections
- LinkedIn endorsements (HM: from who?)
- contribution acknowledgement via GitHub
- free lunch & paid eligible expenses
- Turing swag
**Medium effort** :muscle:
- certificates
- issue around the Turing not being able to certify people
- share feedback / support their professional development
- add them to the Alumni network
- is it applicable?
- contributor spotlight on the Turing website
- AIUK tickets
- trainer profiles
- where?
- VM: there is a profile widget in the website I think?? OLP authors
- acknowledgement as Skill ambassador / advisor / consultant
- unfeasible to issue a new title
- VM: agreed, and people (e.g. TRF, AI fellows already have a title/JD that encourages this types of work)
**Significant effort** :bulb:
- refer a friend vouchers
- reference letters
- publication acknowledgment
- yearly report / showcase / celebration
- exchange of services / skills
- case studies / press release / other comms
## The audiences - what are they after?
