Responsible AI bid (David L) - £500k to support: - Support TFs and other educators in embedding ethics into teaching (live workshops) - Commision courses to consolidate the RAI offering eg accountability, privacy & security missing - Outside this funding request: plans for TC scale-up - slightly on hold until new Ethics fellows start work 2. CDT leadership sessions - insights - needs analysis workshops on 6th and 7th of June with 33 contacts connected with existing and proposed CDTs - Follow up info shared with group on 6th July. 3. Needs scoping for the TC platform - what's missing, what have you done well ## 18th May 2023 `In attendance:` - Mishka - Clau - Bridget - Chris - ... ### Agenda 1. Skills budget approval and Turing Commons spend priorities (think about OoB proposal?) - people resource - citizens' & practitioners' guide (developed with a few CDTs) - made a request from ASG legacy funding - loop in Ayesha to help with the practitioners guide 3. Bridget's role in Turing Commons - script for one of the modules is ready - Bridget's strenghts / interests: support / leading on uploading content to the platform, promotions, comms - community management on the radar but no structure / governance in place at the moment 5. TC sits in PPP - co-led by TPS 6. TC platform ## 13th April 2023 `In attendance:` - Mishka - Clau - Bridget - Chris ### Agenda 1. Explainability of AI - visualisation; think of ethics guide for SMEs / ethical AI by design. Maybe look at this from an angle of what we need funding for to develop, but for SMEs (AI adopters & AI developers) 2. RRI skills track 3. CDT workshops :::spoiler ### Notes - BridgeAI / Innovate UK fronting money to support different orgs working in 4 sectors adopt AI best practices / data capabilities w/ delivery partners (such as Turing). - Skills and Turing Way (TP Hub + AI Standards Hub) involved - Ethical AI by design - potential funding to design guidance for facilitating workshops (SMEs) / similiarities w/ Camden? - awaiting next steps / further visibility into the project - Facilitators guidance for facilitating RRI workshops - Frutto (contractors) established user journey and subsequent steps/needs for onboarding, planning, delivery and evaluation - guidance: training trainers, how to run successful workshops, general UI/UX project advice - Additional resource for TC via funding / resource - Offer project ideas to Turing Research Fellows for additional resource / structured approach and user journey - GitHub repo documentation - modularising / rewriting skills modules - facilitating workshops in their communities - TRIC community manager to potentially spend resource - opportunity could arise: approaching ESPRC for additional resource to support CDTs - data deletion for TC attendees: keep org, region, background/profession ::: ## 2nd March 2023 `In attendance:` - Mishka - Chris - Clau - Sarah - Bridget ### Agenda 1. RRI course for the Online Learning Platform (OLP) 2. Skills workshop at AIUK 3. CDT workshops ### Notes :::spoiler **1. Working towards RRI self-paced course** - skills tracks: formed of modules (fairness and explainability focus for now) - 2 x core module - 2 x optional module - [ ] Clau to share course structure so that we can find ways to set it up - soft external launch at AIUK, full launch campaign mid-end of April - aim to have the RRI module for end of April - the entire skills track ready later in the year - Harriet is keen on testing the RRI course! - [ ] Sarah to share templates and other OLP resources - recording: use Zoom (could use) - add slide w/ Turing Commons faces **2. Skills workshop** - [ ] Mishka to check if we can bring posters **3. Funding bodies to recognise the RRI course as *accredited* training - proposal on how the TC differ from other available offerings 3. Live events on the 3 modules - can we run again in the next 12 months? 4. Updates on upcoming RRI workshops on health and environmental studies - Edinburgh: fairness - Cambridge: explainability 6. Community Management - Clau is currently the community manager, more support would be welcome - wait until we have the modulatised skills tracks - website under re-construction - think about solutions post March 2023 - bring the AI standards community into the Turing Commons - are we capturing inbound interest? what info can we get from the Turing website and other individual microsites eg Turing Way netlify? - GitHub engagement, workshop metrics - identify suitable community event - facilitator guidebook under construction - Alternatives to Google Analytics (rec'd by Bastian): https://matomo.org/ and https://plausible.io/ are the ones i’ve seen recommended quite often. Matomo used to be called Piwik and has been around for ages (and a long long time ago I actually used piwik) 2. Recognising the UKRI courses - for info only 4. Live events - need new person to run the courses (RAM, Ethics fellow) - design slidedecks with detailed speaker notes etc to support self-directed learning - transfer Turing Commons to Carpentries (?) - IUX developer soon to be approved 5. Case studies - access via API, web development required to integrate the case studies with all else 6. OLE - for now, treat the OLE as the only engagement-tracking platform and not the TC website :::
