# Croqadile Rule Book ## Objective The objective of the game is to score the most points by making hoops using Croquet equipment. ## Equipment 1. One Croquet set, including four balls (blue, red, black, and yellow), six hoops, and a center peg. 1. Four mallets 1. A coin for determining the order of play ## Setup 1. According to Croquet standards, set up the lawn with six hoops and a center peg. 1. Determine the order of play by flipping a coin. The winner of the coin toss takes blue and black and goes first. The other player takes red and yellow and goes second. The remaining two balls are their respective partners. If there are 4 players, then each plays one ball. ## Rules 1. Each player takes turns hitting their ball to make a hoop, position it in front of it, or hit another ball. 1. If a player makes a hoop, they score one point, and the play proceeds to the next hoop, as in golf croquet. 1. If a player takes a position, their turn ends. 1. If a player attempts to hit another ball but misses and hits nothing, their turn ends. 1. If a player hits a ball that is not their partner’s, their turn ends. 1. If a player hits their partner’s ball, they may take a croquet and a continuation shot. The taking of the continuation shot ends their turn. 1. The game continues until all hoops have been played, and the player with the most points wins. ## Croquet Stroke A croquet stroke is a shot in which the player’s ball is in contact with another ball (usually their partner’s), and both balls are struck simultaneously. This allows the player to control the position of both balls on the lawn. ## Advanced Techniques Advanced players can use several techniques to gain an advantage, such as peels and rushes. **Peels:** A peel is when a player uses their ball to knock another ball (usually their partner’s) through a hoop, scoring a point for the partner. **Rushes:** A rush is a shot where a player hits their ball into another ball, sending the second ball to a desired location on the lawn. ```mermaid stateDiagram [*] --> TakeShot TakeShot --> MakeHoop : 1 point!
