# Web Search & Evaluation
## Google Search
### Query #1
The first query I did in the Google Search bar is "Northeastern University" site:wikipedia.org
I found over 5,000 results

### [Here are my results](https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Northeastern+University%22+site%3Awikipedia.org&oq=%22Northeastern+University%22+site%3Awikipedia.org&aqs=chrome..69i57.167j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#ip=1)
### Query #2
For the second query, I typed in 'skate fish -ice rink'

### [Here are my results](https://www.google.com/search?q=skate+fish+-ice+rink&sxsrf=AJOqlzWgfd9NOklSEzMlc-lJpHXvXzNkzQ%3A1674505161660&ei=yevOY_ftJ7bU5NoP8MyLkAo&ved=0ahUKEwi39tbqwd78AhU2KlkFHXDmAqIQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=skate+fish+-ice+rink&gs_lcp=Cgxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAQAzoHCCMQsAMQJzoKCAAQRxDWBBCwAzoHCAAQsAMQQzoNCAAQ5AIQ1gQQsAMYAToPCC4Q1AIQyAMQsAMQQxgCOgwILhDIAxCwAxBDGAI6BAgjECc6BQgAEIAEOgUILhCABDoGCAAQFhAeSgQIQRgASgQIRhgBUPMKWPwYYJsaaAFwAXgBgAHvAYgB1QeSAQU3LjEuMpgBAKABAcgBE8ABAdoBBggBEAEYCdoBBggCEAEYCA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp)
### Query #3
For the third query I searched "Northeastern Huskies" and then used the 'Tools' function to set a date range.

### [Here are my results](https://www.google.com/search?q=Northeastern+Huskies&sxsrf=AJOqlzWFUKfV4PcMNczEqohXVSOmHzeEjQ%3A1674505539978&source=lnt&tbs=cdr%3A1%2Ccd_min%3A1%2F1%2F2001%2Ccd_max%3A12%2F31%2F2002&tbm=#ip=1)
### Penguin Pair
I searched "Penguin Pair" and then used the 'Tools' function to set a filter to show only images with Creative Commons licenses.

## Web Credibility
The site I decided to investigate is [OldIronSideFakes](https://oldironsides.ph/) which is a Fake Id distributor.
Using practices from [Valenza](https://blogs.slj.com/neverendingsearch/2016/11/26/truth-truthiness-triangulation-and-the-librarian-way-a-news-literacy-toolkit-for-a-post-truth-world/) and [Berkley Library](https://guides.lib.berkeley.edu/evaluating-resources), some of the intial red flags are the URL (which ends in .ph), the extreme use of colors and fonts, and the suspciousness of photos and links on the site.
All of the content on this site can be seen as not credible. The unprofessionalism of the content on the site is certainly to blame for this. The pixelated logo, different colored text, and the name of menu tabs all combine to show that this site is suspicious.
## Wikipedia Evaluation
Based on the [Wikipedia:Verifiability](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Verifiability_and_other_principles) guidlines, Prof. Reagle's page is not *publishing* his own research, rather presenting the research and academic achievments he has accomplished. Also, after doing a litle research, I did find that Prof. Reagle was a member of the World Wide Web Consortium, but did not find any information about "Good Faith in Collaboration" being a bestseller. These second claim collides with Wikipedia's verifiability policies that are put in place to attempt to eliminate misinformation such as this.
The biggest change I would make to this page is adding more of Prof. Reagle's achievements. Obviously, I would also make sure that the rest of the information that is added is correct and has proper references.
This page was created on [August 1, 2011](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Joseph_M._Reagle_Jr.&action=history&offset=&limit=500).
