# Financing Meta Construct
*Ensuring Metastruct economical freedom for years to come.*
Note: Metastruct is a shorthand of MetaConstruct throughout this document.
## Initial concerns
As active developers become rarer and rarer and Garry's Mod becomes older it becomes apparent that there will not always be a developer around to fund servers for the community. How do we shift the responsability of financing to the most interested, the players?
### Business Model
Chatsounds are a unique part of Metastruct to which many of its regulars are used to and fond of. There is some friction involved with the usage of chatsounds, notably with the upload of new sounds & removal of old sounds that require some basic developer knowledge. The proposal is as follow:
- Every new chatsound will be added through a webportal managed by developers (ideally stable enough that it doesnt need much maintenance).
- Sounds uploaded through the portal will be hosted on the server hosting the portal, and made available through the portal.
- Each upload will be priced **0.99$** (needs confirming).
- Removals of sounds uploaded through the portal will be made through votes.
- Votes for sound removal can be started for free.
- A minimum of 10 votants are required, votants are trusted players (and or developers).
- Votes will be considered successfull if 80% of the votants voted in favor of the removal.
- Votes will expire after a month.
- Users are identified / authenticated via their Steam Accounts, via Metastruct SSO
- Users can call up to three deletion request votes per month

### Costs & funds management
Any generated funds will be invested into making the metastruct environment self-sustaining, e.g pay for services that are required to run metastruct.
> [name=Lixquid] Make it clear there should be no dividend based structure; costs *only*
#### How do we use the money raised and how do we manage it?
- Raised funds should be invested into the gmod server hosting in priority, if there is no gmod, then there is no chatsounds.
- In case of remaining funds, finance the web server hosting for the portal.
- If there is extra money, save for the next month
- If a new cost arises it should be up to financial managers to decide whether to add it or not to the list of things funded.
> [name=Lixquid] Make it clear fund allocations are "locked in" until changed?
> [name=Lixquid] How / when do finmans decide to change the allocation of funds?
##### Maybe scribbbles:
- Debit periods over 1 month
- Board meetings called maximum 1 per month
- Any Board member can call a meeting
- How do allocations change:
- Minimum 2 people to affect any change
- ? Unanimous vote required for fund reallocation
- ? Unanimous minus target required for board removal
- Votes for being elected to the financial board made only by developers on the Steam Forums
- For transparency, Board meetings should be available to read / hear by anyone?
- Chairman of the Board should be responsible for the actual, physical monetary account
- They have super-veto responsibilities for removing board members
- Changes to the physical banking structure??
- Unanimous vote from the board??
- Changes to the contract??
- Unanimous vote from the board??
Example Allocation List:
1. MetaMan FOR #2 UP TO $60/mo
2. TechBot FOR MS Srv UP TO $50/mo
3. Skooch??? FOR #3 UP TO $40/mo
#### Who is responsible for the funds?
- Elected financial managers are responsible of the funds.
- Financial managers are elected by public application votes. At least 10 developers need to vote and 75% of the votes need to be positive.
- Previously elected financial managers have the right to veto an application.
