Spawned from the loins of MetaCartel, ETHos was created as a low level incubator for IRL events, our mission has been to identify global events that bring together groups of diverse humans exploring the intersections of Web3 technologies and human reality’s.
So far we have funded 5 events,
- "notfellows" **Hacker House**, ETH India
- "MetaGame" **MetaFest**, Croatia Web3 Festival
- "RaidGuild <> Nonce", Denver Meetup.
- Web3Bridge, **Web3 Lagos Event**, Lagos Nigeria
- Blockchain and Business, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state, Nigeria.

### Share values of ETHos mission
With a well-defined mission, vision and values for ETHos, we can achieve two things primarily:
1. Make it easier for potential grantees to understand how they fit, and get excited to be involved with the programme. And the associated community that can form from it / association
2. it will make it much easier to fund different projects as it will be easier to understand whether the event aligns with our mission and values.
Web3 values are at the heart of MC itself, so leveraging these values, and helping others to adopt them and spread them further is ultimatley a public good that we all benefit from.
In terms of how this would look in practice, we can start with the wording of the mission, vision and values. But, we can also think about onboarding for those getting involved, whether that be videos of past MCON's, or related MC events, quotes, and even just examples and case studies of where the values have you been lived by members of the community. And what we want prospective attendees of the events that we're funding to benefit from in terms of those vibes, and those feelings that make any MC related event more than just a meetup. Eg inclusivity, fun, openness, collaboration, authenticity, getting spicy etc etc
We should also think about the feedback cycle in relation to the events. Top-down we can run feedback sessions with event organisers afterwards to see how we can have help, what they wished they knew, what they will do differently next time. And bottoms-up, we should encourage those involved in funding these events to collaborate further, and potentially event to make it easier to help out with events they are interested in. And, lastly in this regard, to make it easier for those running these kind of events to connect and help each other, to make their own events better.
Ideally, all those involved with ETHos events would feedback into our common knowledge of how to run awesome IRL events that have genuine impact and live the values we want to see.
- spreading impact
- MC vibe and values
- leverage by giving capital and giving back
- lead with purpose
- less splintering and more autonomy
### Scaling
- start with going far and wide
- review with the team
- what was funded
- what was successful about events
- finetune how to pick what to fund
- scaling discernment!
- demonstrate value
- others want to participate in funding and events
ETHos Chili Pod began by looking for events in locations that aren’t normally serviced/supported by the Ethereum community. We wanted to reach the individuals who haven’t had the opportunity to collaborate and interact in IRL around Ethereum and DAOs. While this has seen success in reaching these underserved areas and people, the ETHos Pod team will be reviewing each grant to understand what aspects of the events were most valuable and which didn’t seem to make a beneficial impact. After collecting and reviewing this information, the ETHos team will better be able to discern which grants deserve funding. The way the ETHos pod intends to scale is with discernment. We will continually improve our responsibility in supporting the most impactful grant teams around the ETHos mission and value
