### Milestone 1
Goals (December-March)
Establish regenerative treasury management practices
Jointly map ecosystem of MetaCartel and MolochDAO funded projects
Survey projects at the application layer to identify funding/educational gaps
Establish a framework to automate information flow gathered at the application layer to be fed into macro level research
Identify funding gaps & educational/activation gaps between ecosystems
Seed public goods cross-dao infrastructure, incentivizing permission-less bounties infrastructure
Set up gnosis safe and superfluid funding mechanism for joint grant funding
Establish regular meeting cadence
Regular attendance of governance meetings
Communicate findings to the communities on (monthly) basis via forum post
### Milestone 2
Bridge the gap between MetaCartel & MolochDAO (meet in the middle)
or
Explore elsewhere to discover where we can make the largest impact. find a new north star.
## Interview Questions
1. How was the funding used?
2. What impact did the funding have on you and/or your project?
3. Were you and/or your team 100% dedicated to the project when the grant was received?
4. By what percentage would you estimate that your userbase increased since receiving the grant?This question is required?
5. How would you rank the success of your project since receiving the grant?This question is required?
6. How would you describe your experience with the MetaCartel grants process?
7. Were there any non-monetary benefits you received from the MetaCartel that you think were valuable?This question is required?
8. How did you find the MetaCartel Grants DAO?This question is required?
9. What catagory would you put yourself in?
10. Is there anything else that we should know about you or your project?

### Reflections
**TravisWyche**: IMHO we should continue the conversation about the importance of this data and how to apply it to our specific hypothesis of elaborating the gaps between the two DAO's scope, because it remains unclear to me, although I recognize so much potential here. To be clear, this is not a critique of papayamaia's work, but rather a call to further elaborate the data.
**Jeremy & Yalor**: MetaMoloch funds sustainable, community focused initiatives with $20k - $50k grants in order to accelerate their development and increase positive social impact within the Ethereum ecosystem. It has been observed by experienced and successful web3 contributors, that transparent coordination mechanisms within inclusive, collaborative spaces amplify creative processes with unique and fresh perspectives. As Ethereum adoption scales, it's vital to bridge the gap between the technical protocol and human coordination layers. MetaMoloch plans to bridge this gap by supplying operational resources to DAOs with sustainable models and strong core contributors.
**TravisWyche**: As Ethereum adoption scales, it's vital to bridge the gap between the technical protocol and human coordination layers. The premise of this funding proposal was to create a reciprocal grant matching pool to align the interests of Moloch and MetaCartel in maximizing the overall funding impact. Both communites are deeply dedicated to Ethereum as a globally persistent and accessible security layer that facillitates strong human community coordination.
MolochDAO might signal their support of strengthening the community layer of the stack while MC might intensify their application layer focus on Ethereum-centric protocols. MC has a proven track record of identifying and supporting high-value projects, putting humans before protocols and being explicit about “not funding good ideas, but funding people with good ideas.”
We propose that MetaMoloch serve as a curatorial grant matching pool explicitly dedicated to developing the Dapp layer of a dynamic Ethereum during this pivotal transitional moment. Based on our data, the joint MetaMoloch working group would facillitate the evaluation of projects that focus on such topics as:
- ETH dev tools
- Sybil resistance
- Privacy, autonomy, security
- Novel Moloch V3 (Baal) utility
- etc etc etc (please add/change this list, based on the data)
MetaMoloch will fund sustainable, community focused initiatives with $20k - $50k grants in order to accelerate their development and increase positive social impact within the Ethereum ecosystem.
**wackErow**: Some core infrastructure problems that need to be solved, developed further or polished (no particular order)
- Bribery resistant voting, ie. MACI
- Social recovery wallets: Reducing onboarding friction while maintaining safety and self-sovereignty
- Scaling:
- We need more L2 resources... more education about them, more affordable onboarding options, and more tools to help migrate existing L1 assets and contracts to function on L2s (ie. DAOs and NFTs)
- We need more tools to make running nodes easier with more research around statelessness and history/state expiry
- We need more tools to make staking easier, expanding on/supporting things like DAppNode, Stereum or Wagyu.
- Sybil resistance mechanisms, and decentralized identities
- Decentralized messaging and social platforms.
- Privacy tools, solutions and education
- Onboarding education and safety
Would personally love to see MetaMoloch target development and even research into these areas. Trying to target issues that once solved will enable the application layer MetaCartel is funding to thrive. Many apps or app ideas now are not yet equipped with the proper infrastructure to build what they truly want to build.
**TravisWyche**: Maybe we have a few options:
1. Treat this as an ongoing experiment: phase 2 is articulating a methodology. This syncs with the original proposal.
2. Reconsider what exactly is the ask. Is MC a worthy recipient of a huge grant sum from MolochDAO - back to square one, just give MC 50-100ETH - or will we reach further towards a truly joint initiative? What is the experimental approach for this joint interest? How might we identify a new north start that isn’t just additive of the interest of the 2 DAOs, but extends beyond to take a bigger risk? So not infrastructure + app layer, but focusing on the gaps as a completely different set of concerns.
Core concern is how can MetaMoloch identify and support maximum impact for the larger ecosystem. This might be identified in the cultural layer built upon Ethereum.

* Identity
* MolochDAO content
* DAO tooling and infrastructure
* Network Decentralization Studies
* Incentivizing work on Ethereum
