- Raid Guild Apprentice Cohort begins June 7. Austin Griffith, LexDAO, Sky and Raid Guild solidity developers will be giving workshops. Collaboration around EthCC with Token Engineering Academy is being discussed. - been about 6 months since their grant
- been awesome 6 months!
- What is Hats Protocol?
- it's evolved since the begining, which was about revokable permisssions in DAOs
- now it's a protocol for roles
- rich objects
- bundle together
- responsibility and purpose
- responsibility leads permissions and authority
- programability is a key theme
- Hats loves MC and has been part of the community in various ways
- 10k grant was super valuable
- MC grant impactful for validation
- helped them focus more on Hats
- MC grant helped get open source development, like the graph, even bringing on a team member
- deployed V1.0 to many chains, early this year
- built subgraph and early version of the app
- built everything they said they would in the grant proposal
- Haberdasher Labs - formed a company
- Spencer, Nick and David are full time and 3-5 are part time
- did two securities on it
- more than 100 DAO people in the community channel
- MC members welcome in there
- distributed 150 Hats hats at MCON2, EthDenver and DAO Tokyo and will at EthCC
- 1.3 is most version of app, but moving quickly
- zodiac module - signing multi sigs
- more modules...
- goal: ecosystem of modules and plugins with interoperablility
- partners: Raid Guild, We3, Hive, Sobol, Nestr, DAOhaus Shamans, Zodiac, DAO Masons, Govrn
- working on helping people understand how to use it
- building front end, first of many
- free consulting service to help DAOs implement Hats
- lots of organizational ambiguity, so they use a spreadsheet and then help have conversations
- right now it's a lot of work to get people to use Hats
- Focusing on 10 or so DAOs that seem best for the conversations: Element Finance, Cabin, Maker, Rare DAO
- growing Hats on heads as tracking, but not necessarily for scale, more for learning to make it valuable
- goal is it to be self service and to fit organically with flow and structure of DAOs
- Cabin City Network
- Hats powers roles and reputation layer, called role cards
- voting and channel access
- permission qualifiers to claim Hats
- delegated Safes, that are still controled by the DAO
- token gating, like Charmverse
- facilitator of other roles, but not the whole workstream - power to do, not over
- staking and slashing
- Found that 20-25 people in a DAO is where Hats are starting to get really valuable
- a Hat might be worn by an individual, and then a multisig and then maybe a smart contract...
- application layer could include the evolution of a Hat and help with best practices
