## Questions
### What was the goal for your community in participating or attending the event?
knowledge sharing
- provide learning resources
Ethereum ethos sharing
- build more on mainnet since gas is less since the merge
demonstrating the oportunity in bringing more Web3 into Brasil
- there's lots of talented developers in Brasil
- organizations from other countries like to do events in Brasil, but they don't do building events, like hackathons. it's mostly social and networking events.
Bridge the entire latin american community, even with the language challenge of portuguese and spanish
### Did you reach, or exceed, that goal?
More hackathon projects were submitted than at EthDenver.
The builders really felt the Ethereum ethos of collaboration.
Next time will schedule the hacking after the talks and workshops, to improve attendance for speakers.
### What were the most impactful experiences your attendees shared about the event?
The house was far enough away from the main part of Rio, but still in Rio, so when people arrived, they stayed the whole time, sleeping, eating, building.
people we're collaborating and really getting the ethos of Ethereum.
EthSamba gives lots of energy towards knowledge transfer and builders had everything they needed to hack.
some speakers we're disapointed in low turn out to talks, cuz everyone was building. next time the hackathon will be scheduled after the talks and workshops.
### What were the key components that made those impactful experiences occur?
the ethos of Ethereum, with collaboration being more valued than competition, was passed on to the builders from the core coordination team, who we're volunteering and working together to make the EthSamba happen.
they even picked up students in a bus to bring them to EthSamba
### What inspired you to approach MetaCartel for a grant?
Marcos experience with MC made him want to suggest the grant, cuz the ethos of both seem aligned.
MC is a good reference in the space for pushing forward the ethereum narative.
the grant process - appreciates the open forum, aligns with the ethos
Been following MC for a while.
### What was the impact of the MetaCartel grant given?
shown Brazilian culture that they're being recognized
the stewards guiding - share, cooperate and make things - support collaborative creativity and building (for )
financial - short term notice (put together in 1.5 months)
Brazilians make it happen, their heart and souls are in it and personal credit cards, which couldn't have happened without expecting the grant
### What was the top outcome in your experience of bringing this event together IRL?
in Brazil it's not as easy for people to just fly into places. they went and got students in a bus.
wants to try something online long term
online has their role, but IRL, especially building coordination mechanisms with ethereum, but it's important to put a face to names
IRL promotes the underline fabric of collaboration and Ethereum ethos. It doesn't need to be told, it's piped into the system and promotes higher outcome with synergies.
In the last few days they switched the event to a hybrid form, so there was in person and remote. this improved the quality of the hackathon projects and increased the reach and participation. Focused on distributing all of the bounties, and not leave any bounties behind, and have all the money distributed.
The ethos from people IRL overflowed to the remote participants. Tweets we're talking about how great Samba was and appreciated that it was hybrid.
The channel of communication was pretty smooth, so feedback came in.
A super star dev from MetaMask volunteered to steward and speak.
