# Contributing to Mero The Mero community is the fundamental part of building Mero. In addition to participating in protocol governance, community members are encouraged to make or propose contributions. Anyone can contribute to Mero. As a community we are always looking for feedback and ways to improve the protocol. However, in order to become an official DAO contributor, community members must follow the guidelines provided in this document. > Dont wan't to become an official contributor but have ideas? Share it with us on [Discord](https://discord.com/invite/jpGvaFV3Rv) ## Why become a contributor? Becoming a Mero DAO contributor grants access to a host of new opportunities. Contributors get a closer look at protocol operations through access to exclusive channels and content (e.g. early access to new features). Furthermore, if approved by the DAO, contributors may also receive grants from the community reserve (which will hold 5% of the total MERO supply). ## How to become a contributer To become an official DAO contributor your contribution must fall within one of the following categories. The category you make your contribution in is also the name of the role that you will be granted. If you are interested in a specific role or have questions please reach out on [Discord](https://discord.com/invite/jpGvaFV3Rv). Please note that certain roles may have limited availability. ### Strategist Anyone can submit a Mero yield-farming [strategy](https://www.notion.so/o/-M_6GUZ1w6dOriRVQwRZ/s/-M_6GaCAq93d3KioY9kE/~/changes/aq0EcwEjCU4bE8Nrm6pq/protocol-architecture/pools/strategies). Community members who have their submitted strategy implemented collect a percent of the strategy performance fee. If you have a general idea for a strategy and would like to discuss reach out on Discord. For well formulated strategies, make a proposal on the Mero Discourse (TBA). ### Dev Make a contribution to the Mero [GitHub repo](https://github.com/merofinance). In addition to this, individuals can contribute on the development side by submitting integrations that require programming skills (e.g. Zapper) and providing support to the Mero dev team. ### Mod Help keep discourse within the Mero community productive by moderating discussions within the Mero Discord and Telegram chat. This includes removing spam, supporting users by answering questions, and keeping them engaged with product focused discussions. ### Educator Contribute to Mero by creating and sharing educational content. This includes, blog posts, videos, graphics, threads, or anything else that helps educate people on Mero! If you have created documentation on Mero, share it with us on Discord. ### Spreadsheet monkey Mero sheets are a collection of community submitted recipes that explore the possibilities of the Mero protocol as a financial instrument. Anyone can submit a recipe and become a coveted spreadsheet monkey. Learn more about Mero sheets [here](https://hackmd.io/@merofinance/merosheets). ### Translator Help bring Mero to everyone around the world by providing a translation of the Mero website or other Mero related content. If this is something you are interested in, please get in touch with us on Discord. # The contributor role In order to acquire the contributor role, one must first acquire at least one of the other 6 aforementioned roles. **Holding the contributor role on Discord is what grants and verifies official DAO contributor status.** ### Retaining contributor status Members who acquire the contributor role must maintain a minimum **activity status** to retain the role. The activity status requirement currently consists of sending at least 1 message per month in the Mero Discord server. Please note that Dev, Strategist, and Spreadsheet monkey roles are exempt from the activity status requirement # Contributors List Community members who contribute to the protocol deserve recognition. Then uses the LP Token 3CRV to provide single sided liquidity to a Curve Meta Pool, for example MIM or FRAX. It then stakes the Meta Pool LP Tokens in Convex, periodically harvesting CVX and CRV rewards to sell for the Underlying.

Mero Discord Roles Guide

What are Mero Sheets?

Mero Sheets are a community lead resource that explores the possibilities of Mero as a financial instrument. Each Mero sheet showcases a theoretical investment strategy through a simple spreadsheet. The goal of each Mero Sheet is to provide the framework for earning above market returns with the Mero protocol. Any member of the Mero community can create and submit a sheet. Submissions are reviewed by the Mero team and other Mero Sheet creators. Individuals who submit an accepted Mero Sheet are granted the Spreadsheet Monkey role on Discord. Submission Requirements To be accepted into the Mero Sheets collection submissions must meet the following criteria: Only uses decentralized protocols (no centralized exchanges) Must be conceivable and similar in format to existing Mero Sheets Sheet must have a name and brief summary (or explanation) Submission must include an excel (or Google sheets) spreadsheet that breaks down the recipe into numbered steps and calculates excess return (return with Mero  —  return without Mero)
