--- tags: Rework --- # Station economy rework Link all vendors together (with the help of some tool) to cargo. Cargo now sets the prices stationwide from a console they control (and the AI can't access). ## Motivation The station economy is absolutely bonkers right now, useful items have overinflated prices because their stock inside vendors is always depleted by the end of the game. This means that it ends up costing more to buy a single insul from an engineering vendor than it would to go buy a whole crate of them by just walking down to cargo and smacking a cargo monkey over the head with a pile of cash. ## Function All vendors would use default costs the way they used to, unless they are linked to a Cargo Vending Control Computer (placed somewhere the AI can't see). The CVCC allows cargo to check stock on all connected vending machines and set prices of sold items. All vending machine cash now goes to the cargo budget, giving cargo a reason to jack up those prices and refill those vending machines. Vending machines would also have to be reworked to allow refilling them item by item.
