--- tags: Rework --- # Yet to be named mining rework. <!-- Facvengate because *Fac*torio Sca*ven*ging Sci*gate* --> [mining rework banner image here] ## Factorio Factorio mining is simply building drills on lavaland, transfering ores and constructing a refining setup. ### Available materials Iron, Gold, Silver, Plasma <!-- Plasma is pretty important to keep here for L O R E reasons --> ### Drilling ### Refining ### Raids? Not sure if raids are doable with scavenging due to personnel shortages. ## Scavenging ### Available materials From ships: Bluespace, Uranium, Titanium From asteroids: Diamonds, Titanium ## Integration with scigate ### Available materials Randomised materials used for special items or funny reagents for the forge? # Ideazone you could just skip the whole gate idea and make it a bi-departmental ship mission where you scavenge for both tech and resources from enemy factions of the corporation, would be kino considering the lore ^^ I don't really know. While this sounds cool on paper I think it will have issues in real circumstances with players and all that.<<like? ~~Just more of a people not wanting to do it and such~~ lets just try doing the Factorio + Scavenging + Scigate idea first. And then using code/whatever from that to try this out. Also I am not that sure with adding off-station stuff like this, one of the points with SciGate is to make the zones fairly small and easy to clear (depending on level/difficulty). On top of all that you are really going to make miners do way too much if not only do they need to take care of lavaland AND this, scavenging and factorio is already a bit too much which is why I am not sure if raids should be a thing with Facvenging. AND ON TOP OF THAT we'd have to scrap the scigate which is in my opinion a really fun idea; also we need to decide what we should do instead of thinking of something else all the time. << Honestly, why not a bit of both? Shipwrecks can have a few research artifacts here and there whereas scigate can have a few loose raw materials lying about in certain parts where it'd make sense. Obviously not as much in both cases, but it'd be a nice thing to mix both just a little bit so the game feels a bit more alive.
