# A Game Called The Outlet

## Introduction TL/DR
- You're playing a game called The Outlet.
**Visual:** Could be hands in front of screen, perhaps sketch art*

- In it your avatar appears exiting bullet train into a train station. There are avatars all around representing other people playing the game too, but it's not overcrowded. The avatars all look the same, wearing the same clothing. Perhaps a star trek kind of thing. Could also be a starship/spacestation or Mars. Could be Tokyo
**Visual**: It's night time, we know this somehow, and lighting is a little dim here. Could be some neons. Perhaps the names hover above each avatar.*

- Once your avatar exits and steps onto the platform you have control. Your avatar has a slight glow about it so you can tell it apart from the rest of the new arrivals.

- It's time to explore! You make your way to an entrance that says "The Outlet" above it, but the door is locked to you. There are instructions on it telling you what you need to do in order to proceed.
**Visual**:* We have to show it in a way that explains why you're not blocking people from the exit. Maybe each avatar has its own door?*

- You need to (*insert name of requirement*) before you are let in. Once you do, you receive a badge (mask/key/signifier) proving to everyone you meet from now on you fulfilled The Outlet's entry requirement. The door opens for you. Maybe the first place you enter is a lounge overlooking The Outlet where you chat and take everything in - get acclimated. You get a key by completing the requirements.
- Make the point here that anyone who interacts with you doesn't know "who" you are but knows you have "watched the" video/agreed to terms" so they can at least engage you on that level. And you know the same
- Other ideas of requirements:
- Watch an overview video
- Agree to rules
- go help someone do something (showing your willingness to be a good person)
- Learn something
- Pay something (prove you have funds in escrow).
- Skin in the game that can be taken if a conflict occurs
- Maybe instead there's a person you meet who tells you the rules, and you have to tell the next person in line behind you

- Enter into The Outlet Cafe. Below, through the windows you see The Outlet and it kind of looks like a mall or bazaar.

## Setting

- Bullet Train station, arriving in Tokoyo
- Spaceship docking at a station hovering above a planet (The Expanse)
- Spaceship landing on a distant planet, like Mars
- Disembarking from a train into a town in the old west (Tatooine/West World)

## Notes
- You're playing a video game called The Outlet
- Your avatar arrives at a trains station in Tokyo/future
- You gain control of your avatar as soon as it steps off the train
- You are directed towards an entrance
- Before getting there you encounter a Terminal that blocks your path.
- It requires you to complete a few tasks in order to prove your identity. For example watching a video and inserting some cash into escrow in case of disputes.
- Once you complete them the terminal spits out a keycard that allows you to enter The Outlet
- You proceed to the entrance door and use your keycard to enter.
- You arrive in The Outlet's lounge where you can chat with other players.
