# Matplotlib Triage Team Existing docs: - https://matplotlib.org/devdocs/devel/triage.html ## What is the role of the triage team? - Label issues and PRs; - Add issues and PRs to GitHub projects created with appropriate permission (public projects); - Close issues and PRs. Members of the triage team cannot: - Commit to the repo; - Set PRs as draft/ready for review; - Re-run failing PR checks. How do we get feedback on the labels and potential mistakes? ## How does one get nominated to the triage team? https://matplotlib.org/devdocs/devel/triage.html#triage-team > If you would like to join the triage team: > - Correctly triage 2-3 issues. > - Ask someone on in the Matplotlib organization (publicly or privately) to recommend you to the triage team (look for "Member" on the top-right of comments on GitHub). If you worked with someone on the issues triaged, they would be a good person to ask. > - Responsibly exercise your new power! > > **Anyone with commit or triage rights may nominate a user to be invited to join the triage team by emailing matplotlib-steering-council@numfocus.org .** - How long should triage requests take? - Who can nominate someone to the triage team? - Who makes the decision about adding someone to the triage team? - PROPOSAL: If no objections in a set amount of time, the nominated person gets added to the triage team. - Can "maintainers" add people to the matplotlib org? - Melissa to figure out permissions - Communicate with other maintainers about new people added - Should a space for maintainers be created? - Disclose/explain AI use - Feedback about triage can be addressed in the chats ## Who is currently in the triage team? Existing teams for the matplotlib org: https://github.com/orgs/matplotlib/teams Current triage team: https://github.com/orgs/matplotlib/teams/triageteam - Should we review permissions and remove inactive members, with a message about being able to rejoin if they wish to come back? --- ## Notes and links - https://github.com/orgs/jupyter-book/projects/3
