# Web Search and Evaluation ## Google Search ### Refine Google Search #### What would you query to see how many pages on the English Wikipedia site mention “Northeastern University”? How many results did you get? [Search results](https://www.google.com/search?as_q=skate+fish&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=ice+rink&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=active&as_filetype=&tbs=) I would go to Google's advanced search page and search for Northeastern, for the language I would select English and I would type Wikipedia under the category or domain. I Got 172,000 results in .63 seconds ![](https://i.imgur.com/4ZOPySV.png) #### What would you query to see web pages about the skate fish but no pages about an “ice rink”? I would go to Google's advanced search page and search for skate fish and then I would write ice rink under the category that says none of these words. [Search results](https://www.google.com/search?as_q=skate+fish&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=ice+rink&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=active&as_filetype=&tbs=) ![](https://i.imgur.com/KR62xaZ.png) #### What would you query to see web pages about the Northeastern Huskies from the first day of 2001 through the last day of 2002? I would go to tools when conducting my search and enter a custom date. [Huskies from the first day of 2001 to the last day of 2002](https://www.google.com/search?q=northeastern+huskies&client=safari&rls=en&sxsrf=AOaemvLsF8IItSrRFsvkX96A1Zh3psFixw%3A1632424313172&source=lnt&tbs=cdr%3A1%2Ccd_min%3AJanuary+1+2001%2Ccd_max%3Adecember+31+2002&tbm=) ![](https://i.imgur.com/kW2ZVPs.png) ### Pair of Penguins ![](https://i.imgur.com/EE5QDfR.jpg) ## Web Credibility [Questionable credibility article](https://www.thetakalani.com/foods-hurting-weight-loss/) According to the Berkeley Library guide a good source must have 6 main components: authority, purpose, publication/format, relevance, date of publication and documentation. This website I found of questionable credibility because it lacks a clear author name and it does not seem very reliable. In the article it is not mentioned if the author is an expert on this topic so their is no way to tell if what they are saying is true or not. The article also does not have a date of publication which makes is less credible. This website falls under the category of fake news and hoax site because the information is probably used to trick readers. The reader would have to do a lot of fact checking with this article to evaluate if it's actually factual or just misleading information. ## Wikipedia Evaluation #### A version of the “Joseph Reagle” Wikipedia article stated (a) I worked at the World Wide Web Consortium and (b) my book Good Faith Collaboration was “bestselling.” How does these claims relate to the policy of Wikipedia:Verifiability? Would you suggest any changes to the page? These claims are not very verifiable. There is not enough evidence to back up each of these claims. Once you click the link to the Good Faith Collaboration book, there is no line that says that it is a bestselling. #### According to its history, when was this article first created?
