# RSE-AUNZ Steering Committee Succession Plan # Motivation This document outlines *who* can make decisions on behalf of the RSE-AUNZ Steering Committee. Whenever a member leaves the SC, the fiscal sponsor (if any) will likely need to be informed. # When does this document apply This document should be followed when one or more Steering Committee member(s) leave the RSE-AUNZ Steering Committee. ## People have left the SC - One chair has left - ask for volunteers within SC. Single chair is responsible until second co-chair is chosen/elected. - if chair is found within existing SC, ask for volunteers to replace general member (who became the new chair) - if chair is not found within existing SC, community is notified and volunteers requested. ideally people with previous SC experience - Both chairs have left - A temporary chair should be selected before the second co-chair can leave - If not, a temporary chair should be selected by the existing SC - A general member has left - call to community - SC is below 3 members - call to community for members to join immediately
