# Music WIP sharing platform - brief ### Background My musician friends and I have a Discord channel where we share our progress, give feedback, and motivate each other. We'd like to create a platform where we can do this in a more structured way, and where other like-minded people can also participate. Currently focused on music, but potentially expandable into other forms of art and activities. ## Target audience Music creators who want to get feedback from other musicians and give some feedback themselves. ## Similarities and differences from other platforms **Soundcloud** - music sharing; it's focused on the song, the final product; communication between artist and fans. Here: * the focus will be on the artist and the process (work in progress, behind the scene) * communication between the artists, feedback, advices **wip.chat** - people set goals, share their WIPs, encourage each other. Here: * Tools that are more tuned to sharing audio * Freeform progress sharing instead of specific goals that need to be fulfilled ------ ## Specific features to implement * Uploading and playing audio * Comments and reactions to the posts? * Site-wide feed that can be filtered? (like tags="need_review", comments="<2"), to help out people; or "comments >20" to find hot posts and discover new people. * Following people, adding to friends, some kind of "bookmarking" * Come to think of it, maybe bookmarking the specific posts? * Ability to set "streak goals" for oneself, so that the streaks are counted only when the person is up for it? Or some other kind of non-obligatory challenge.
