# Gun Voodoo ###### tags: `Ideas Guy` `Design` ### Cursing Spacemen for Fun and Profit (Souls!) ## WTF? Gun Voodoo is the process of cursing firearms with the need to _kill_. Guns don't necessarily need this curse to feel the need to kill, but getting someone to kill with them is another story. The cries of billions of unused firearms has brought forth practitioners of the holy art of Gun Voodoo. They serve the Murder Kube, and care for its children, the Gun. **TL;DR:** Gun Voodoo practitioners speak for the Kube and the Gun, and compel their victims to use the firearm for its intended purpose: **Ultra Violence**. ## How? The Gun Voodoo practitioner is called a "Kommando". They have an array of methods to curse unwitting crew with a needy Gun, but require tools for their practice; they do not have innate or self-contained abilities. They have two major tools: A Gunbench, and "Brown Brown", a mix of cocaine and gunpowder, used to perform their rituals. The Gunbench creates the firearm for the victim to use. It is selected and built using normal raw materials, and once completed, binds itself to the Kommando until it is transfered to the victim. If the Kommando doesn't curse a victim with the gun, it dismembers one of their limbs before disappearing. The Kommando may recreate their bench if it is destroyed, but at the cost of Brown Brown. "Brown Brown" is akin to Plasma or Genomes from other antags, in that it is a scarce resource, that incentivizes performing the antagonistic objectives by being rewarded upon the player's success. Failing to correctly perform a ritual consumes half of the Brown Brown used, meaning a unrobust Kommando can use up all their resources and be forced to recover their Brown Brown levels by mixing 1u of Blood with 2u of Ash, and drinking it, restoring 1 unit of Brown Brown for every 10 units consumed. It is *not* a physical item, rather a counter tied to the Kommando. For each of their victims that completes their objectives, the Kommando receives bonus Brown Brown at their bench. Victims who kill their targets are freed from the Kommando's enthrallment, but those who fail to kill their targets in the allotted time are killed by their own guns. ## Innate Abilities ### Smoke Bomb! ### Gun-Kata ### ## Rituals Kommandos have the following rituals available to them: ### Emblazoned Purpose Brown Brown Cost: Low The Kommando paints the forehead of their victim with a cube of Brown Brown on their forehead, and lights it, creating a visible mark (replacing the head slot), while uttering the name of their target within 30 seconds. This makes the victim comatose for three minutes, after which they awake with their gun and murderous intent. If they do not kill their target within 15 minutes, the Gun turns on the victim, and kills them. Emblazoned Purpose gives a immunity to damage to the head, and a heavy weapon to its victim. ### Cleaner's Deceit Brown Brown Cost: Medium The Kommando stains the ground with a shapeshifting mark of Brown Brown, creating a slightly off-color version of vomit, dirt, blood, oil slick, or some other filth. The Kommando must utter the name of the target within 30 seconds of creating the mark. Whenever the mark is cleaned, the closest person to the mark is cursed. They are covered in blood, and given a shotgun, and have 15 minutes to kill their target. Cleaner's Deceit gives the victim multiple types of shells for their shotgun, including a rare change for tech/chemical shells preloaded with deadly contents. ### Technical Backlash Brown Brown Cost: High The Kommando curses a console with a trap using Brown Brown, by diassembling the console to its frame, and imbuing the board with the mark. The Kommando must utter the name of the target within 30 seconds of finishing assembling the console. Anyone who uses the console (except for just turning it on and immediately closing it) will be cursed. The victim is set on fire, given an energy weapon, and have 15 minutes to kill their target. Technical Backlash provides the victim an immunity to burn damage, and the ability to recharge their weapon by remaining still for 60 seconds. ### Kommando's Reprisal Brown Brown Cost: Low The Kommando curses his own Gunbench with Brown Brown, ensuring the next person to touch it is cursed. **This includes the Kommando!** This ritual is the quickest to perform but has no way of dispelling it, meaning the Kommando can use it if he believes his base has been discovered, but must ensure someone touches it before continuing. The victim is given a .357 derringer that reloads itself every 30 seconds, and must kill **anyone** within five minutes, **including the Kommando**, or else the derringer kills them. Kommando's Reprisal does not provide any special abilities or benefits to the victim. ### Halbeck Device Brown Brown Cost: Medium The Kommando curses a potted plant with Brown Brown, causing the next person to loiter near it for 15 seconds, or pick it up, to become cursed. The Kommando must utter the name of the victim within 30 seconds of imbuing the plant. The victim is given a battle rifle, and is dressed like a [Rhodesian Light Infantryman](https://i.pinimg.com/236x/99/a6/3f/99a63f13ead4a7ca3f3b0708b99b6748--military-art-military-uniforms.jpg). Halbeck Device gives the victim increased speed and thermal vision. The victim must kill their target within 10 minutes or they suck-start the FAL. ### Communist Swill Brown Brown Cost: High The Kommando curses an alcoholic beverage with Brown Brown, causing the next person to consume more than 15 units of it to become cursed. The Kommando must utter the name of the target within 30 seconds of spiking the drink. The Victim is given a bolt action rifle with high-velocity ammunition, which has increased armor penetration. Communist Swill gives the victim robust natural healing so long as they have alcohol in their system, but the effect consumes ethanol rapidly. The victim must kill their target within 15 minutes before they are killed by space bears, which spawn directly next to them. (Eventualy they should be automatically gibbed if they manage to avoid death for 5 minutes.) ## Being the Victim The victim is treated as an antagonist, and is no longer affected by the rules governing crew behavior. They can kill anyone necessary to complete their objective but they _must_ either kill their target, or themselves. The victim is given a visual timer until the gun takes their life, and is given warnings in chat as this timer counts down to particular milestones, (5 and 2 minutes remaining respectively). The Victim _may kill the Kommando_ with weapons _other_ than their cursed gun, but the cursed gun does _not_ affect the Kommando. If the victim manages to successfully kill their target, they are no longer actively an antagonist and return to their previous state (meaning that traitors continue to be traitors, etc). ## Removing the Curse The victim must be incapacitated for any curse removal to happen. **They are obligated to resist removing the curse, even if they intend to kill themselves.** However if a victim can be incapacitated by the crew, they can be forced to drink/injected with holy water, and have a corresponding litany uttered in their presence. Each litany corresponds to a different ritual, so determining what the victim is cursed with is important. Once the litany is uttered 5 times in the victims presence, while they have 30 or more units of Holy Water in their system, the curse is lifted, and the gun turns to ash. **This also harms the Kommando directly, dealing 20 points of brute damage**, meaning that this process can be used to out the Kommando if they have remained stealthy.
