<h1>RACEWAY CONSTRUCTION MANUAL</h1> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>Tracks are to be constructed in areas adjacent but not within direct proximity of the station.</li> <li>Track areas must have a gigabeacon constructed and powered for the duration of the race.</li> <li>The race officials will require a shuttle onsite to officiate the race.</li> <li>Lattice based markers for the boundaries of the track, with appropriate markers denoting direction of travel.</li> <li>At least one "pit stop" garage, containing a light medical bay, communal pod repair center, and basic power generation.</li> <li>An attempt must be made to maximize the camera coverage of the track such that officials may track race progress and prevent cheating.</li> </ul> <h2>Design Guidelines</h2> <ul> <li>Raceways should contain at least one of each of the following: <ul> <li>A cross-over section where the track loops over itself.</li> <li>At least one hair-pin turn</li> <li>An obstacle section containing at least five or more in-path hazards</li> </ul> </li> <li>No more than three types of each hazard are permitted on the track.</li> <li>Natural obstacles, ruins, or other local oddities in the local space may be used as alternatives to any of the above.</li> </ul> <h1>RACE RULES</h1> <h2>Pod Restrictions</h2> <ul> <li>Pods may not contain weaponry or direct offensive equipment.</li> <li>Pilots must wear normal jumpsuits, not hardsuits or other hermetically sealed equipment.</li> <li>Pilots must carry a GPS unit marked with their racer name.</li> <li>All Pod armor is allowed, however pods may not use the same type as another. First come first serve registration.</li> </ul> <h2>Racing Rules</h2> <ul> <li>All racers must complete three laps of the track to be considered to have finished.</li> <li>Any racer that does not complete three laps for whatever reason is considered "DNF" for the purposes of scoring.</li> <li>Racers may bump into or otherwise make direct contact with other racers at any time during the course of race.</li> <li>Each racing team is permitted 3 minutes for repairs, and 5 minutes for medical recovery.</li> <li>Failure to return to the race before each relevant timer will be treated as "DNF".</li> <li>Race Officials have complete authority to make rulings on the field that are otherwise not covered by these rules.</li> </ul>
