# EDI Report - Following INI Inclusivity Event
### Context:
Jess Enright recently attended a workshop on Inclusivity in Maths at the INI. The below are essentially notes for her to use in discussion at an School EDI meeting.
### Action points for Jess:
- Do we want to try to invite Sara Jabbari?
- physically if available
- What can we share about our workload allocation model?
- get shareable things from Gethin? Send to Imperial and others - Consider contacting Dundee, or look online
- Do we want to try to do any of the below? How much EDI fund uptake have we had?
### A few resources and ideas:
- A recurring theme: at what scale can we take what actions?
- Birmingham's approach to group formation
- Using ugrad interns to great accessible/decolonisation curriculum items:
starmast.org
- LTDF internships? (last year shut in May, look for expression of interest)
- prospective as well as current students?
- Anne Cori's talk and the academic wheel of privilege - watch party? I can ask Anne Cori if we can use her code?
- prioritise, low effort - GWICs - Fani - Sean McDonald
- How to train your allies: https://sites.google.com/view/how-to-train-your-allies
- ran a workshop, generated materials including guidance, slides, a piece of art that they now display in a common room
- Jess to look for a lead? Consider the scale? Can grad students get the 'points'?
A more comprehensive report from the event will follow, Jess happy to share when it eventually exists.
Jess' actions:
- DONE 17 March: email GWiCS about Anne Cori
- look for a lead for a 'train your allies' proposal
- Write an EoI for the LTDF fund for materials
- concern: better fit for a call that's closed
- DONE 17 March: Invite Sara Jabbari
