--- title: 'Hootsuite Tutorial' disqus: hackmd --- Hootsuite Tutorial === ## Table of Contents [TOC] ## Why Is Hootsuite Useful? > * Hootsuite can save you time with your social media marketing. Instead of logging into each network and posting there one at a time, you can manage Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest all from one place. > * And its “Streams” feature can help you stay on top of relevant conversations as they’re happening. Again, you can monitor conversions on different networks from a single dashboard. > * Hootsuite also has a helpful Analytics feature for in-depth social media performance reporting. If you run an agency, you know that reporting the ROI of social media can be tricky. Hootsuite’s Analytics feature helps you show off your deliverables. > > >
## Connect your social accounts > When you add a social account, you are prompted to set or accept the permissions needed for you to publish content and manage those accounts in Hootsuite. Orientation tags are commonly assigned when taking pictures on mobile devices. These pictures can appear correct when viewed on your computer or mobile device, but appear rotated when uploaded to Hootsuite. > > To change the rotation of a photo, open and rotate the image in your default image editing application, such as Preview (iOS) or Windows Photo Viewer. Then save the image as a new file and upload it to Hootsuite. ### Work with Videos > > Each social network has its own requirements for video files. Hootsuite takes care of much of the work to ensure that your videos are compliant, but you may want to review some of the specific requirements, such as length limits, before uploading. Depending on whether Hootsuite needs to adjust aspects of your video, such as dimension or bit rate, you may need to accommodate for processing times and advance scheduling requirements. To make your content more accessible, you can add .srt caption files to videos in Twitter and Facebook posts. > > **The information in this article applies to:** Twitter profiles, Facebook Pages, Facebook groups, LinkedIn Pages, Instagram profiles > > [MORE](https://help.hootsuite.com/hc/en-us/articles/217417907-Work-with-videos-#2) >
## Get started with Analytics You can use Analytics to measure the overall performance of your social media activity across multiple social networks.
