Echospace 7/18/2023 ## What was it like? - Cool to meet new people with a range of expertise in both science domains and software development/engineering. - Even with 8 years of software experience, still experienced **Imposter Syndrome**, especially meeting the developers I look up to, but everyone were very friendly and inclusive, no matter what your level of expertise. - It was very fun at the end of the conference days with very punny lightning talks. - Got lots of stickers!!! AND Trading cards!! - The talks are both very technical and domain specific, but also were about open source community buildings. - The tutorials were very insightful and cool. - Wished I stayed for sprinting days! Got to hack on a feature a little bit with two of the core xarray dev! ## What I learned? - Scientific Python Org: https://scientific-python.org/ - Pyopensci Org: https://www.pyopensci.org/ - Conda libmamba solver: https://conda.github.io/conda-libmamba-solver/ - VSCode: - Profiles: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/editor/profiles - Jupyter notebooks: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/datascience/jupyter-notebooks - Debugging: https://code.visualstudio.com/Docs/editor/debugging - Liveshare: https://code.visualstudio.com/learn/collaboration/live-share - Data wrangler: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/python/data-wrangler-release/ - Github codespaces: https://github.com/features/codespaces - Example: https://github.com/xarray-contrib/xarray-tutorial
