Foxwood Resort Casino reported $33.6 million in slot revenue for the month of June 2020. The figure represents a 4.9% decrease from $35.3 million in June 2019. Slot handles for the month were $377.1 million, down 13.5% from $436.1 million in the same month of 2019.

Under an agreement reached by the Mashrantucket Pequot Tribe State with Connecticut, they also donated $8.4 million to the Mashrantucket Pequot Fund in June, which supports desperately needed programs and services across the state. The tribe donated $9 million in June 2019.

The tribe has also brought 2,000 furloughed employees back to work, a welcome development in eastern Connecticut, which has recorded the highest unemployment rate due to COVID-19 shutdowns.

"After a careful and phased reopening with significant new health and safety protocols and limited capacity, we're really pleased that the business has been very strong," Tribal Chief Rodney Butler said. "We're excited to be open and help rebuild Connecticut's economy."

Butler said Foxwood is committed to ensuring the resort operates safely for both visitors and employees, and will continue to work with medical professionals to evaluate and update them as needed.
