**Making Sense of Maps & Data** is an introductory program for adult learners who are interested in making digital maps and working with geospatial data. The program is offered periodically as a sychronous course, led by one of the Leventhal Map & Education Center librarians, but materials are available online for anyone to access at any time.
Over the course of the three sessions, participants will learn what kinds of information is needed to make a map on a computer and how to ask questions of this information. The course aims to equip participants with a careful and critical attitude towards the social power of computer data and the maps produced with it. By the end of the course, participants will be ready to learn the basic technical skills of digital mapping and data cleaning.
