# Fall 2023 Basic Training Package
## goals
- To provide a lot of structure and support as returning LLUFs are settling back in and new hires are getting onboarded.
- To make sure LLUFs know all the things they need to do their job well and enjoy their time at the LL.
## Activities to Complete
* LL workflows and getting set up (tech basics, etc.)
* a few key LL-Moves
**HackMD & Your LLUF Notebook**
* start using your LLUF notebook to keep notes and draft your updates
* [LLUF Notebook Template + Guide](/SvD2GaqqSxiKt0jNxCXJ-A)
* complete your bio llufography section
#### cases, conventions, and captures challenge:
objectives:
* learn the cases we use (we use pascal for lots of secret things, kebab should look familiar too)
* to learn our naming convention practice so you can label card stacks, video shoots, etc. and we can keep track of things according to the awesome system that sophie, casey, and marlon have put into place!
* to continue practicing how to take orthographic, keystoneless photos that will predictably look cool in grid aggregations!
* to practice the image to markdown workflow we use a ton and need to all be lightning fast at
* to make sure you understand how to submit completed work responses!
1. on a card, write your first and last name in:
* pascal case
* camel case
* kebab case
* snake case
2. on the other side of the card write the date and event name of this activity following the LL naming convention (*hint: there is a button magneted to the welcome hub pipe with the naming convention template written on it!)
3. take a [make-it-square](/xth0Y4k3SQi6UQxW_wQcpA), post to the #util-img-2-md slack channel and submit [the work response](https://airtable.com/appCm7g0XXkDhNB9v/shr5OaDtqIJCubFGj)
4. bonus points: take a highly keystoned photo that puts your card in conversation with some LL environment you like
#### LL Treasure Hunt
* to help you navigate and orient yourself to the most common things we use and the places they can be found...
* we designed a silly treasure hunt:
1. we have a list of 10 items/objects for you to find
2. take a creative picture, (a textural picture, a keystoned or keystone-less picture, a super close up, a unique perspective, etc.)
3. once you gather all 10 photos, you can slack them in your individual channel and tag Dani and she will bestow upon you a random but glorious sticker from her collection
- the real reward however is that you will totally know where to find/put away things
- the list of items:
1. headphones
2. 3 inch mylar for buttons
3. chalk
4. 24-70 lens
5. usb-c cables
6. utility knife
7. ethernet cable
8. 5 foot grounded power
9. XLR cable
10. atem mini switcher

* see if you can download any relevant apps for the work you are hoping to do

* make your lluf brand
* post it to util-img-2-md to get a public url for it
* make the tiny logo version... to fit on a tiny button or be recognized as a slack emoji
* this may need to be a different version as your main logo, simplified, more "iconic"...so if your main logo is your full name, your tiny logo may just be your first initial in the font, but bolder and with a color background?
* make the button series
* a large one with your main logo
* a tiny one with your tiny logo
* make your slack emoji icon.
* it should be titled following this standard:
``` :marlon-k:```
* submit the work response and put the public url in the link field
