# Krissy's Notebook Fall 2023 ## BIO-LLUFOGRAPHY ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Sy5oqdPAn.jpg) #### my lluf catch phrase: *Live. Laugh. LLUF. If you dare.* me = LL famous! #### lab: graphicsLab, welcomeLab #### tools I can help others with: * iMovie * Garageband * Photoshop #### my personal learning goals for this fall: Dear Self, Good evening. This semester, you and I will be busy cooking up some things in the Learning Lab. What I would like for you to do is get more active with AI, hopefully on a special team. We have said it before and we will say it again---I want for you to get familiar with AI and attempt to integrate it into a data science project. I would be pleased if you could find a way to use AI to do more of the menial tasks like web scraping, data wrangling, etc. in the programming language r. If you find yourself with spare time, then my task for you is this: G R A P H I C S. You know very basic skills in PS (though likely need a refresher), but, specifically, I would like to develop your Photoshop skills to the extent of making realistic scenes. For instance, say you are in possession of a photo of a group of friends but one friend was otherwise occupied upon that day. Learn how to Photoshop that friend in, realistically. I have spoken my piece to you now. Do. Ooxx, Krissy P.S. Given the constraints of the universe in which you exist, your focus may shift to the latter of the tasks you mentioned. It is also likely that you will continue your involvement with the welcomeLab!! ## key links: * [Basic Training Package](https://hackmd.io/SWo0f6uPSi2mgnnvXRt7Nw) * [The LLUF Guidebook for Fall 2023](/Hd1PfV98Q3GXuE5gykSvEA) * [Work Response Form](https://airtable.com/appCm7g0XXkDhNB9v/shr5OaDtqIJCubFGj) * [Weekly Update Form](https://airtable.com/appCm7g0XXkDhNB9v/shreQhF2GmuXCGpzV) * ![alt text](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F05PN6XV0M8/many-icons.jpg?pub_secret=dbc539c7af) * [Adobe Creative Suite](https://harvard.service-now.com/ithelp?id=kb_article&sys_id=9f3244d3dba304d430ed1dca489619e0)[](https://) ## dashboard: | Shortcut Key | What It Does | | -------- | -------- | | command + tab | toggles between apps! | | command + space | search and open app | | I & O & E | in FCPX, selects in and out points in footage and adds to end of timeline | | command + t | opens new tab | | command + k | searches in Slack | ## The Return to LLab ![Person with Full Logo Button ](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F05UD35S746/img_7838.jpg?pub_secret=9aaf3615b1) These past two weeks, the red carpets were rolled out as I made my debut-that-was-actually-my-second-debut at the Learning Lab. First, I had my Basic Training Launch^TM, where I was the Pioneer LLUF to test the new program. This year, the Learning Lab is taking a more structured approach to the LLUF role, and I am liking it! Since then, I have continued working on the Basic Training, and warapped up my LLLUF brand creative logo unit today. I made my tiny and grown logos into buttons and enjoyed depositing them throughout the studio. Looking ahead, I am excited by the prospect of training my own bot. I expect to finish basic training next week, then begin to help out with more tasks!! ![Full Logo](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F05UMTA1RPE/1.png?pub_secret=ba4b2a1ff2) ![Miniature Logo](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F05UCS0GWB0/kkoltiny.png?pub_secret=66b4f9a45f) ## Bling Words, Stat 110, & More ![Bling Words!](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F0616GFHKQC/img_7996.jpg?pub_secret=ac570a1fe4) Since we last spoke, I have been occupied! Within these last two weeks apart, I have completed my Basic Training Package. I spent time working on making a gif to add to a Zoom background, but eventually threw in the towel on this fruitless effort and said goodbye to the Basic Training Package in order to get started on my next project. Then, today, on the next week since my previous update, I began working on the Graphics Lab Initial Learning Project. I am looking at Stat 110, an intensive introudciton to probability class at Harvard which I am currently enrolled in. It is the biggest class at Harvard, both now and historically, with over 600 students in the class this semester alone. I conducted some background research, beginning to generate a basic visual identity of the course. I explored the syllabus, reddit theads, the department website, the course website, and more to generate a list of roughly a dozen key bling words and phrases. This is an ambitious class to undertake for this assignment, but I am excited to cross the frontier in the coming weeks! ## "Organize Me" -Shelf, 2023 You. Me. Two weeks. What has happened? Let me tell you! My priority these past two weeks has been the _Book Subsection Search AND Organizing_. How titillating!! Per Kevin Holden's work request, I have been sorting every column of the book shelf of interest into different sections. I have so far completed the General and Graphics columns, breaking them down into like categories. I first relied mostly on intuition to get the base categorization system down, then made it more systematical. I then had to adapt given the confines of the bookshelf itself. I look forward to continuing my task in the coming weeks! On the off-time from this task, I have assisted with studio maintenance and facility organization, helping Jordan reframe the cameras and also keeping the studio tidy. Until next week! Ooxx, Krissy ## MORE ORGANIZATION ![Half Kris](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F0668BKF5C5/img_8497.jpg?pub_secret=fbda6fae80) ![Shelf](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F0670AD84AC/img_8499.jpg?pub_secret=b99637277c) Since we spoke last, the bookshelf has seen more action. Today, I faced the challengers of the Events and Reality columns. I faced my foes valiantly, and have now broken them down into subsections. I had a blast sorting these through, and even read up on a few of the books to ensure accurate sorting! It was interesting to see how the books were originally sorted into the parent categories of 'Events' and 'Reality,' particularly as there was a book which we had two copies of which was once placed in 'Events' and once placed in 'Reality'. I also found a Raven's Used Books Bookmark, as well as a recipt from 2006, which made me feel. I created the subcategories of Events: * Teaching & Learning * Games * Space * Theater * Philosophy * Creativity * Multimedia Reality: * Deconstruction * AI * Perspective Until next time... Ooxx, Krissy ## Shocking News: Sectioning Dead at Week 12 ![Bookshelf](https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0HTW3H0V-F068P6D4V0R/img_8650.jpg?pub_secret=1be2c9fa93) Dear Diary, Today marks a solemn occasion. The day I finally defeated the bookshelf in the Studio. We completed the final 2 sections of the studio---AV and Code. I broke the AV section into: * Photography * Directing * Storytelling * Visual Effects x Props * Filmography * Lighting * Learn * Games I broke the Code section into: * Projects * C/C++/Objective C * Python * R * JavaScript * Data Visualization * Learning x Teaching Now, we can declare the Book Subsection Search complete!! Until next time.
