The feedback that you provide, both on the assignments you are prototyping and on your overall experience in the space, help the Learning Lab grow and learn. There are 5 main ways we will you to fulfill this responsibility this Fall: 1. per shift, a super quick check in and check out. 2. per week, an short blog sized update synthesizing your week 3. per project, a submission of what you did and a reflection on it 4. per term, a notebook that documents your process 5. on camera interviews and large group design labs ___ Beyond the Fall Training, there are 3 ways for you to engage at your own pace and contribute in ways that resonate with you. 1. join a Lab 2. join a Special Team 3. come to special events that we slack you about ### Labs! Labs are where we **LEARN!** where we build our skills and develop new ways of communicating our ideas in the wide array of forms at the LL! Our hope is that Labs will allow you to better connect with the work and mission of the Learning Lab by building teams and fostering an even more fun and close community here. Each lab is supported by a returning Media and Design Fellow and an LL Staff. #### You may choose to join ONE of the following 5 Core Labs: - avLab (audio visual lab) led by Elitza + Casey - codeLab (next.js, slack apps, web development, app design) led by Anna + Christine - graphicsLab (graphic design, posters, presentation visuals) led by Emily + Jordan - realityLab (3D modeling and game design) led by Sophie + Chris - eventLab (live event design, studio infrastructure, backstage crew) led by Siriana + Marlon ### JOIN A SPECIAL TEAM! Special Teams are where we **OPTIMIZE!** These teams are centered around a particular area of work we want to apply extra focus to. These are zones where we are asking for a particular skills set that has already been built. So where Labs are zone to build skills, Special Teams are a zone to deploy them for cool outcomes! A few of the internal LL Special Teams we know we will have are "project-welcome", "project-clean", and "project-content". More Special Teams may form throughout the term as we get requests from leadership. #### You can apply to these teams: - project-clean - project-welcome - project-content ### COME TO LLUF EVENTS! We will schedule these internal group activity times as they pop up according to our upcoming needs. We cannot guarantee that you will reach your desired weekly hours through this avenue alone, but this may appeal to those of you who enjoy a more flexible work schedule. We will slack you about these as they #### goals: - To meet the highly responsive and rapidly evolving nature of the LL - to provide structure & support for LLUFs who want to try new things, learn new skill sets, and most importantly contribute to shaping the undergraduate curriculum. --- ## slack channels. **tip:** *command + K lets you quickly search for any channel or post on slack!* You should for sure check out this awesome [Slack Guide](/-GwZl4laTUWJlzZmDhgT1g) made by a former lluf-it gives you more tips and also walks you through how to :sparkles: customize :sparkles: your own slack workspace! key channels: * ll-llufs-23-24 * util-img-2-md (post here to get markdown for a single image at a time) the lab channels: * ll-av-lab * ll-code-lab * ll-event-lab * ll-graphics-lab * ll-reality-lab --- **Attendance Policy**: We value your presence, punctuality and commitment. If something unavoidable occurs and you are going to be late or can't make it, just give us a heads-up as soon as you can. Open communication helps us adjust and support each other. Your commitment to being present and reliable is what keeps our LLUF team strong. In order to maintain consideration for everyone in our work community, if you are more than 15 minutes late, no-show, or cancel within 24 hours without a valid excuse MORE THAN 3 TIMES, your recurring hours will be forfeited for the remainder of the term. --- As we begin this fall, remember that the whole LL community is here to support you every step of the way. If any part of this leaves you wondering, remember, I'm just a message away. I cannot wait to see all of the greatness each of you will bring to the LL.
