## BIO-LLUFOGRAPHY
#### my lluf catch phrase:
I am as my name describes
#### lab:
av-lab
#### tools I can help others with:
* logic pro x
* garageband
* adobe premiere pro
#### my personal learning goals for this fall:
I want to become proficient in the tools necessary to complete my thesis. These include using a video camera, video editing (with adobe premiere pro), audio editing, the use of logic pro x and garageband, and potentially the use of a green screen. I have more experience with audio software than video software, and the least experience with cameras. I want to complete projects that support the work being done in the learning lab while also building the tools I need to succeed in my thesis and my career.

a place for you to keep notes that you commonly refer to! For example, maybe a table of shortcut keys you need help remembering and commonly use:
| Shortcut Key | What It Does |
| -------- | -------- |
| command + tab | toggles between apps! |
| command + space | search and open app |
| I & O & E | in FCPX, selects in and out points in footage and adds to end of timeline |

## September 11th-15th Week Update
This week, I completed the LLUF Basic Training package, which included the bio llufography, the work response for make it square of my cases and conventions, the scavenger hunt, setting up my personal machine, the lluf creator brand work response, and reading abouth the LL and LLUF program. I then moved on to choosing my lab: AV-Lab. I started working on the ILP for this lab, which as of right now will be about microphones (the different types, their uses, and their importance in video and audio). I met with Elitza and Casey to talk about where I am at with pre production. And I will be helping them and joining them during their Music 207 Workshop.

# Week Sept 18 - 22
- I started doing research for my ILP and talked to folks about what information would be most important to include in the video (for example, dynamic versus condenser microphones).
- I began to work on Space Lab with Jordan and Marlon, and helped brainstorm the types of things that could be done throughout the different learning lab spaces.
- I helped other students who were working on their ILP.

- LOOKBOOK/STORYBOARD = frame by frame how the director imagines the video will look like and how it will evolve. (what frames will look like, what information will be in each section, etc.); drawn with annotations explaining transitions, what is going on, narration, etc.
https://robinpiree.com/blog/lookbook-for-film
- think about interviewing people on different mics (ex. Chris)
- will I film mics that we have in the studio or will i branch out in terms of what resources I will use (what is accessible to me?)
- Will probably need to record music or sound and then play them back for the video (record the same thing using the different mics to show how they funciton differently)
- Create a timeline for the project with the materials you need and/or have access to
- Where to film? What does the setup(s) look like?
- can make it more specific (ex. the specific mics we have available at the learning lab)
- look at other videos on the topic to get some ideas
CONCRETE NEXT STEPS:
- develop a lookbook (DONE)
- get experience with the mics we have in the LL, using them and filming them and recording with them
- look for people to interview for the video (and plan out video shots) (Slacked Chris)

### Mics Available in Studio
- Cardioid Condenser Mics
- Hypercardioid Condenser Mics
- Polar Condenser Mics
- Cardioid Dynamic Mics
- DZM/Hanging Mics (hanging ones are all cardioid, all condenser; dzm are all omnidirectional and condenser)
- Head Worn Mics (cardioid and condenser)
- Lavalier Mics (condenser, can have different pickup patterns)
- USB Mics (condenser, variable pickup patterns; all condenser mics can be USB mics)
One section for condenser vs dynamic ; one section for pickup patterns in microphones
look up models for different mics to make sure that this information is correct

### Next Steps
~~Build Timeline~~
~~Find Workshop Footage to use for project as b roll~~ - B Roll Footage in LLUF Drive 5
Set up interview questions and send to Chris, find time to record with him (throughout the week)
Try filming myself in specific settings to see if this is how you imagine the set for the video (monday Oct 16)
Ask for help on microphone setup for video (tuesday)
Write Script (tuesday)
Start Filming Officially (Next Friday)

## Production Plan:
1. Write Script (Due End of Tuesday October 24th Shift)
2. Write Interview Questions (Due End of Tuesday October 24th Shift)
3. Filming will most likely be done in the main studio, but whichever space that can handle multiple microphones set up to one system so that I can showcase the difference between them would work.
4. We would probably need at least three days of filming to cover all of the scenes that are necessary for the video to be made.
5. My lookbook has a list of all of the microphones that the lab has that would be available to me for the project. The main ones include a dynamic microphone, a set of condenser microphones: omnidirectional (DZM), cardioid (cardioid condenser microphone), hypercardioid (hypercardioid condenser microphone) ... and potentially more if supplies allow, and a lavalier microphone
The story of your week, using any markdown elements you'd like! Include as many images, quotes, really anything that helps to synthesize what you've done in the past week!
The size/length should between a robust social media post and a short blog post!

### the breakdown:
If you have an extra 15 minutes or so not spent on higher prioroty tasks, you can totally work on creating a more elaborate and creative data vis of this breakdown, but it would be awesome to get some stats on the following each week at a minimum so we can put together a larger data vis/stats board for storytelling about all of the LLUFs as the year goes on!
