# LLUF Fall Labs This fall, each LLUF will **dock with at least one Lab**—a small team focused on a specific area of Learning Lab work. Some Labs might meet more formally, while others will pop up as projects or needs arise. Either way, you’ll have a home base for learning, contributing, and building up your skills. **Here are the Core Labs for 2025–26, click or scroll to read more:** * ** * **studioLab** → operational + physical systems (events, buttons, chalk, cameras, space!) * ** * **ai-lab** → generative AI tools, scripting, tutorials, responsible use * ** * **assignmentLab** → supporting multimodal student work (infographics, podcasts, presentations) * ** * **activityLab** → active learning design, co-facilitating workshops in the LL --- READ MORE BELOW: ### [lluf-studio-lab](/SXMjdw2HQfOgjBRuq9oMYA) *(aka avLab/artLab/eventLab) *This Lab focuses on the physical and operational systems that make the LL go—supporting events, maintaining the space, and working with the studio gear and materials. You might: * Greet visitors and run the front desk * Clean and organize the space and materials * Prep for events: printing, folding, assembling kits * Operate cameras, switchers, and lighting during live events * Make buttons, signage, or visual displays * Source media or materials for upcoming projects **Join if you: **Want to get hands-on with tools and tech, enjoy being part of the behind-the-scenes work, and like learning by doing. ### [lluf-ai-lab](/tTlmvPFpRGeYEovPzxvsmg) *(aka codeLab)*This Lab is all about building working knowledge of LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, etc.) and educationally effective tools/applications that deploy them (python notebooks, slackbots, etc.). You might: * Test LLMs or tools in specific learning contexts * Develop tutorials or guides for students * Use dev platforms like Colab to explore workflows or automate processes * Contribute to conversations around access, clarity, and responsible use **Join if you: **Are interested in coding, tools, or systems—and want to be part of shaping how generative AI shows up in classrooms and creative workflows. ### [lluf-assignment-lab](/zoM3FjCKSFqFbs-JGkiF-Q) *(aka mediaLab/multimodalLab)*This Lab supports unconventional communication forms—like infographics, podcasts, explainer videos, video essays, live presentations, and animations—and builds the skills to teach and scaffold them well. You might: * Learn an unconventional communication form and develop the ability to teach it * Help others overcome technical hurdles as they plan, test, and refine their projects * Develop tutorials, resource kits, and examples of multimodal projects * Support faculty and course projects that involve multimodal assignments **Join if you: **Are interested in how students express complex ideas across media and want to build both creative and instructional skills in a variety of communication formats. ### [lluf-activity-lab](/Q5wbYprLQIS0eajif5fFwQ) *(aka designLab/theatreLab/gameLab)*This Lab focuses on testing, co-designing and leading active learning experiences and workshop activities in the Learning Lab – from initial ideation stage to implementation. You might: * Test and reflect on activities and assignments * Help shape design challenges, warm-ups, and in-class exercises * Deploy structure, pacing, and framing strategies borrowed from games and experiential learning * Co-design or lead activities within LL workshops **Join if you: **Are interested in testing and co-designing active learning, facilitation, and pedagogy—and want to help design experiences that support student thinking and engagement.
