the system
switcher=camera 4, in camera mode= camera 12 --> click the full screen icon to adjust cam
when system turns on, it typically resets to 5600
### media express:
click log and capture. comman comma to determine where it goes. you'd eyeball the camera aesthetic and adjust in system
### resolve
1. any time you update the software, or start it on a new machine you need to check the system wide preferences, command comma at opening window (when you change these you have to close the program and start again).
* Video and Audio I/O
* Capture Device = UltraStudio 4K Mini (this is what you'll need to set up)

2. new project
* YYYYMMDD_LL.Documentation_FL (date_PaperCapture_initials)
4. file--project settings
* Master Settings--
- [ ] Timeline Resolution = 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD
- [ ] Video Format = UHD 2160p 24

- Capture and Playback
- [ ] Video Capture and Playback = UHD 2160p 24
- [ ] Video Bit Depth = 10 bit

5. Create a New Timeline
- switch to the edit page
- file--new timeline
- name it: YYYYMMDD.77.00X_LL.Documentation.Paper

6. Go to the Color Page
- command r (resolve live toggle on and off)

- go to full screen of the scopes

- put a white 11 x 17 paper under the camera

- [ ] do the scopes look like this?

7. command option pa"R"ty!!! (aka capture all the cards with command option r!)
8. command r to toggle off resolve live
9. delete any accidental shots (like with hands in it, etc.)
* go into edit mode
* select the shot
* shift delete (to ripple delete)
10. Deliver
1. go out to Finder
* create a new folder name = stills
* within that folder create a new folder with matching project name = YYYYMMDD.77.00X_LL.Documentation.Paper
* export as a single clip
* go to Video
* change Quicktime to TIFF
* Location = browse-find the folder
* File subfolder = rl.ungraded.tiff
* Custom Name = YYYYMMDD.77.00X_LL.Documentation.Paper_rl.ungraded.tiff
* Use **4** digits in the filename
* Each clip starts at frame **1**
2. Add to Render Queue
3. Render All (in right side of window)
Make a graded set.
1. go to color
2. select one of them
3. adjust the s-curve
* if you don't see adjustments in the main view click the
4. in main viewer, two-finger click -- grab still

5. select all the other clips you didn't grade. right finger click -- apply grade

6. go to Deliver
7. change Filename and Custom name so they have "graded" instead of ungraded
8. YYYYMMDD.77.00X_LL.Documentation.Paper_rl.graded.tiff.
## Make a Gif
1. go to Deliver page
2. in presets, switch to rl.graded.mov (far left on top)
3. under video
3. format QuickTime
4. codec: apple prores
5. type: apple prores 422
6. file
7. change custum name to rl.graded.mov
8. change File subfolder to rl.graded.mov
9. add to render queue
10. render
11. open up terminal and add a new window (command n)
12. type: gif [then drag in the .mov file from finder] and hit enter
13. boom! you have a gif!! post it in #show-your-images
