--- tags: resources --- # EASTD97 Final Project Support Throughout this term you will be able to make use of the [Bok Center's Learning Lab](https://bokcenter.harvard.edu/learning-lab) help as you work on your final projects. Whether you are creating a podcast, a storymap, or have another idea you'd like to persue the Learning Lab will be there to help you over the course of the term. ## PODCASTING In a podcast, your voice will often achieve an intimacy or approachable informality that can be more effective at connecting to your audience, and you have tools at your disposal (pacing, sound effects, music beds) that can add additional layers of meaning. The podcast editing tools we typically support are: * [Garageband](http://resources.learninglab.xyz/simple/projects/eastd97ab/garageband) * [Soundtrap](http://resources.learninglab.xyz/simple/projects/eastd97ab/soundtrap) * [Audacity](http://resources.learninglab.xyz/simple/projects/eastd97ab/audacity) We can also help out with any questions you have about Logic or Ableton if you decide to go with one of those tools instead. ### ADDITIONAL PODCASTING RESOURCES As you begin to create your own podcasts, here are a couple of resources to check out. * [podcasting.learninglab.xyz](http://podcasting.learninglab.xyz) is a great resource for thinking about podcast structure, recording, and what resources are available to you at Harvard * [A quick guide on recording with your phone](https://sites.google.com/g.harvard.edu/ll-podcasting/recording?authuser=0) some very quick tips on how to optimize as well as some basic recording practices * [Tips on recording in Zoom](http://resources.learninglab.xyz/simple/projects/eastd97ab/capturing-in-zoom) * [Audio Collaboration](http://resources.learninglab.xyz/simple/projects/eastd97ab/audio-collaboration) helpful tips for navigating collaboration remotely across a variety of tools * [Pro Tools tips on remote recording](https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/production-expert-1/2020/3/31/case-study-how-to-remote-record-during-the-covid-19-lockdown) * [BBC remote recording protocols](https://www.bbc.com/news/business-26256502) are really great ## STORYMAPS ArcGIS StoryMaps is a story authoring web-based application that enables you to share your maps in the context of narrative text and other multimedia content. * [Getting started with ArcGIS Storymaps](https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-storymaps/get-started/what-is-arcgis-storymaps.htm) * [ArcGIS Storymaps resources](https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-storymaps/resources) * [9 Steps to Great Storytelling](https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/429bc4eed5f145109e603c9711a33407) * [Planning and outlining your story map: How to set yourself up for success](https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-storymaps/sharing-collaboration/planning-and-outlining-your-story-map-how-to-set-yourself-up-for-success/) * [Youtube: ArcGIS StoryMaps: Getting Started with the New Story Builder](https://youtu.be/t_oFnIIJA-A) * [Youtube: How to Create an ArcGIS StoryMap in under 10 Minutes](https://youtu.be/aVPUQTRrdfU) If you're interested in going deeper with mapping in ArcGIS, the Librarians in the The Harvard Map Collection can help!
