# How to Make Ted Ed Style Videos Using Canva
We are excited to show you how to use canva to make some key visual communication moves of TED Ed videos. Let's start by finding a few models of TED Ed videos that explain scientific concepts so we can get a sense of the type of visuals we want to make:

Having watched the video we made (above), let's go through some tips for creating your own! Below are 15 easy steps that outline the process for you. ## 15 STEPS TO MAKE A CANVA VIDEO:
1. step 1. go to [canva](http://www.canva.com) and create a new design. choose video.

2. change background color.

3. add texture to background. In photos, search for texture. drag and drop to fill frame. adjust transparency to desired effect.

4. add graphical elements. In Elements section, search for graphics that you want to use. You can also edit the colors of the graphics to fit your overall aesthetic.

5. make sure to use the smart alignment lines to keep things centered and visually clean.

6. resize, copy, paste, and align to create multiples.

7. double click on element to crop and use toggle to rotate elements.

8. use animated elements for emphasis.

9. add simple text.

10. add additional elements, but keep things simple and clear. everything in your design should function to help your audience understand your material.

11. add videos straight from canva's video section.

12. add simple animations.

13. [record your voiceover narration into your phone](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeGq-5SYqXQ). Upload the file to your computer. Upload to canva Uploads section. Drag and drop onto video timeline.

14. drag to resize visual frames in timeline to fit voice over audio.
