Improvises his songs. * Chorus vs. verse * form and content distinction * Rewrite a rap verse that you know by heart and tweak it in a way that makes it feel "wrong", * messing with the number of syllables in a word so that it doesn't match with the meter * moving it to a different language that doesn't match * ## Setup + Media ### Examples to load on our computers #### 10:30am section "M.A.A.D City" by Kendrick Lamar <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/10yrPDf92hY" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> A Coney Island of the Mind, by Lawrence Ferlinghetti <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ezS3uR4O2G8" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> ![](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5c5b11c1bfba3e4a2e2cbe3a/1557831039986-PM3ZVDGFSMHFX5DD272R/074_coneyIsland.HERO.jpg?format=1000w) ![](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71b6ajp6+vL.jpg) #### 1:30pm section Gabe, "Nothing to My Name" by Cui Jian <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kYwsPt854Xo" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Adam, "03 Adolescence" by J.Cole <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Qn1qdC7hXRg" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Felipe, In the Heights <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/J1THRAluOGI" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Felipe, Hamilton <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/r1izVfVpBwE" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
