After all they don't handle submissions by themselves anymore.
I must have confused. Many years ago they did but now they use some platforms that handle the submissions.

I know that these platforms charge a percentage of the value the festival charges for the submission and apparently that percentage is agreed between the parts.

I only know the developer of the sites. The client wanted those platforms and are happy with them. All festivals use this kind of platforms.

These are the platforms:

In this platform you exist as a filmmaker or something similar and have your films in your account (after creating/adding them).
To submit it to a certain festival you select the product you already have with all the fields already filled beforehand.
Nothing similar to what you are doing.
One can check if the film was selected, if it was rejected or if the the submission is still pending selection.

In this platform you have to fill a form each time you want to submit your film to a festival, just like in

The SFD Service therefore enables Users to create an SFD Account, log in and access their Account at any time from a computer connected to the internet, and save on their Account data relating to one or more Films (technical and generic characteristics, contacts, photos, dialogues, careers, Film files etc.) on a single Film registration form, for one or more of the Festivals that subscribe to the SFD Service."
