- fear of being evaluated vs mere presence effect couldn't be separated
- weak methods were used at the time; experiments were often conducted in presence of experimenter
- 5k + 10 null results should be reported to make the original report in-significant
The conclusion chapter is beautiful
- Replicate and reproduce
- Null-results are interesting
- Avoid questionable research practices (like p-value rounding)
- Register your study
- Avoid the Hawthorne effect (implement a distractor task)
- Come up with HRI reference tasks (instead of reproducing social psych tasks)
