Administrative ### 1.1. Approval of the Jan 2022 meeting minutes * https://hackmd.io/jo-votvASfKF-JIs6_UZyA?view - approved ## 2. Main agenda ### 2.1. Support the development of Microcosms ([GL#7](https://gitlab.com/osmfoundation/lccwg/-/issues/7)) * Brian presents at SotM US and will have worked on it * Community organization session at SotM US ### 2.2. Develop/design local community website template/tool ([GL#13](https://gitlab.com/osmfoundation/lccwg/-/issues/13)) * Italy is almost ready. Demo at https://zealous-shaw-c7dfe0.netlify.app/ * Call scheduled in the US ### 2.4. Update the OSM website to highlight Local Chapters ([GL#14](https://gitlab.com/osmfoundation/lccwg/-/issues/14)) - Update on the Communities page is that the web maintainers have offered to make the necessary changes around a month ago, but there have been so subsequent updates. More details on the PR here - https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/3301 ### 2.5. Moderation subcommittee updates - Previous status: Moderation Team has still not started yet because the Board is asking for more information/resume about the proposed members as well as other people who applied. Subcommittee has some pushback against this. - The Board considers the Committee's work done. They will contact the volunteers directly. It has been 5 months since the volunteers signed up. Board wants Allan to take the lead. - New community.osm.org will probably adopt the updated etiquette guidelines. ### 2.6. Best practices around doing paid work for local chapters - Uganda was was not accepted as a Local Chapter. Board is working on guidelines regarding paid work. Certain types are seen as problematic. MapUganda accepted work that implied collecitng closed data (though it was opened afterwards, which was always planned to be opened). - Recommendation to come up with exactly what kind of organization is acceptable and which aren't. The Board should talk to more communities in Africa. - Guidance for existing organizations to "become" acceptable would be useful - Jean-Marc (Board member) is working on more specific rules/guidelines; Eugene to work closely in order to have more voices in Africa be considered as input - What would be the impact for existing chapters? It is expected that the current chapters would shape the guidelines, and would not be evaluated against any new rules. ### 2.7. Local Chapters and Communities Congress 2021 ([GL#10](https://gitlab.com/osmfoundation/lccwg/-/issues/10)) - Everything is finally online! - Can be removed next time ## 3. Other business ### 3.1. LCCWG Membership Previous status - Outreach to members who haven't joined in the last 3 meetings (Dec, Oct, Sept) & haven't RSVPed. Perhaps someone else from their community would like to join? Or we need a new meeting time? This includes: Patrick, Charles, Naveen, Nicolas, Rob, Besfort, Can - People will reach out to other LCCWG members - Outreach to members from unreprested regions/countries ([maybe from Congress attendance?](https://hackmd.io/6Pf5g0A1QXaYxsJthKQafg) - Eugene to reach out on the OSM-community-building Telegram group and the local-chapters mailing list: No update New stuff: - Discuss on the chatgroup if the meeting time/date can be changed. - Reach out! - Start with a plan of new and fun things and use that to motivate people - Work out an idea on how to work together on fundraising rather then competing, especially with Local Chapters or around State of the Map. Note: Board is also talking with HOT about fundraising. Growing OSMF investment (especially in staff) means growing funding from big users. HOT can also share experience. ### 3.2. SotM 2022 / LCC Congress - SotM will be in Florence + online; August 19-21 - Call for proposals is open - LCC Congress should be in the main agenda, so we need to do an application. Since it is hybrid, it will also be available for remote guests. We will [apply](https://pretalx.com/sotm2022/cfp) for a Workshop ### 3.3. LC Application Handbook - Drafted by Allan Mustard: https://hackmd.io/4NfuVm7tSKi3HIB3FKFrNQ - Eugene will reach out to existing LCs to get their input based on their experience applying - Geoffrey: Provide examples of documents to be submitted and examples of structures of organisations; also consult aspiring organisations ## 4. Next meeting - Discuss in Telegram. --- *Meeting ended at 17:15 UTC.*
