How pyOpenSci's peer review process works
To begin maintainers can submit a pre-submission inquiry to our software-review repository. We suggest submitting a pre-submission inquire if you are unsure whether your package fits into our scope.
Once you submit this, one of our editors will respond. It may take us a few days to assign an editor - thank you for your patience during this time. The editor may ask you for more information about your package. If the package is in scope <link to discussion of scope in guidebook?> the editor will ask that you submit a package review request.
They may also ask you for suggested reviewers.
At this point the editor will find reviewers (this step also normally takes a bit of time) and the review will commence.
