# GCP Network Reduce Cost Plan
### Nowsday cost (bandchain project)

- The above, This show that there is massive traffics out of SG and Virginia. The cause of this is the location of our validation instances and sentry node instances.
- The GCP has no pure matrice for separating internal IP egress and external egress (need to connect with the GCP Big Query and do a complex calculation method), so we can't tell how much the deducted cost exactly in each method for now.
## Reduce External Egress Cost
- We can reduce the external egress cost by changing our network service tier from `premium` to `standard`

- The above show that we can cut the cost aroud 20 - 30 % of external egress by this method
- The GCP claims that `standard` tier service is not fast as the `premium` tier but it is acceptable.

## Reduce Internal Egress Cost
- By the node topology for now, there is the across region communication between validator nodes and sentry nodes (SG validator communicate with both SG sentry node and US sentry node, and vice versa)
- We reduce the cost of this by reconstruct the topology which the validator nodes can communicate with only sentry node in the same region.

- The above show that across region egress cost is 0.08$ per GB while egress within asia is only 0.05$ and within US is only 0.01$
- Gain more validator down risk. if all networks in one region are down, we may lose all the validator nodes that have located in it. (nearly impossible)
# Reduce Base Cost
- If We move all validator and sentry nodes to the US, The cost will be a lot cheaper
- Gain more validator down risk becasue all the nodes have located in the same region.
- More latency when doing shell connection because all the nodes are very far from SEA
