The FRAME Team recently participated in the Polkadot Parachain Summit and Polkadot Decoded before conducting a team retreat in Malmö. > We quickly realized that scheduling three consecutive events back-to-back may not be the best idea 😁 ### Summit - Kian showcased some of FRAME's upcoming features [here](https://hackmd.io/hPUc9YZPSW6Vve4owZxDfw). Prompted by Aaron's idea, we initiated an experiment asking participants— all ecosystem builders— to plot on a graph their likelihood of utilizing these features. The results: ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Sy-E_dFF2.jpg) - Keith moderated a session on XCM, during which he detailed the proposed changes for [XCMv4](https://github.com/orgs/paritytech/projects/27/views/14?pane=issue&itemId=26773517). - Additionally, Jonas from the Web3 Foundation led a pertinent discussion about the future of Polkadot's staking inflation, and how much of it should go to validators and the treasury. You can find the digest [here](https://forum.polkadot.network/t/adjusting-the-current-inflation-model-to-sustain-treasury-inflow/3301/2). ### Decoded Notable speakers from the FRAME umbrella team at Decoded included: 1. Keith, who discussed [the future of XCM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTgcvi40TBY). 2. Goncalo, who presented an in-depth [analysis of Polkadot's staking system](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl_775xBKFc), NPoS. We anticipate further conversations about "FRAME The Framework" at the upcoming Sub0 event 👀. Meanwhile, we'll be busy building ⚒️. ### Retreat ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rkMQOuYF2.jpg) We adopted a "barcamp" style agenda for our retreat, taking inspiration from previous Parity engineering retreats. [This Notion page](https://www.notion.so/paritytechnologies/Retreat-July-2023-a425a2b7ab874558a4ba3e7bbe168041) provides an overview of all the topics discussed and some high-level notes/links about each of them. Alex and Muharem (from `pallet-contracts` and system parachain teams respectively) were invited as well, fostering cross-team collaboration. Both presented sessions/topics that are practically relevant to the core FRAME team, but these are not typically on our daily radar. > Personal insight: I've found that cross-team or even cross-department participation in team retreats can be highly beneficial. Gavin also joined us for the second part of the retreat, where he addressed many unresolved questions. He provided more details of his vision for FRAME in 2024 and beyond, much of which is available in [his keynote at Decoded](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIB1WeVuJD0), or on this page of the aforementioned [Notion page](https://www.notion.so/paritytechnologies/Retreat-July-2023-a425a2b7ab874558a4ba3e7bbe168041?p=23bd2b4ef5574922b40d723b9f0ecdd8&pm=s).
