I joined Map Uganda as a member, right at the inception of the organisation. This was after a series of OpenStreetMap project engagements with the Humanitarian Openstreetmap Team in Uganda. ## What is your involvement as a member/volunteer with MapUganda and OpenStreetMap? As a member, I have participated in all annual membership meetings, I have participated and volunteered in a number of projects with map Uganda and I have also managed one project with Map Uganda. I have also mobilised for membership among the various YouthMappers Chapters around the country. ## What does MapUganda mean to you? Map Uganda is the base Institution for the a Geospatially oriented Uganda. It holds the strengths to infuse and focus citizen science among Ugandans and institutions that govern Ugandans. ## Why do you want to be a board member? I am prepared to deliver a strong strategic framework with which the organisation will uphold the vision of making maps for Uganda and delivering Geospatial knowledge amongst Ugandans. ## As a board member of MapUganda what do you see as your most important responsibility? * Contribute to and provide strategic direction with the other board members to the growth of the organisation. * Create avenues for solid and improved performance towards the vision and mission of the organisation. * Together with other board members, monitor and contribute to ideas for more strategic funding for the organisation. ## What do you plan to focus on as a MapUganda board member? Strategic Framework development. ## What do you see as MapUganda’s greatest challenge and how do you plan to help MapUganda meet that challenge? Map Uganda is a very promising organisation and platform for the youths and Uganda at large to exploit the strengths of Geospatial technologies for quality of life. The greatest challenge is the lack of strategic direction to ensure satisfactory outcomes by the organisation at large.
