--- tags: commission, rp --- # Rtil Zombie Sketch Commission ## Disclaimer *I give you my word that this document contains **no** links to images of real people.* Not everyone is as horribly desensitized as I am (*which is probably a good thing*), and as always, I really want an artist I'm working with to enjoy working with *me* as much as possible! _**For that reason,** I would like to remind you to tell me if ANY of this document would make you uncomfortable to conceptualize or draw._ I promise I won't be upset; if anything, I'll appreciate the honesty! ## Summary This is a type of monster that will feature in a scene I'll be GMing. (Unsurprisingly, with me as the GM, it's guaranteed to be edgy.) They're the corpses of people that were burned to death by supernatural, cursed flame - which then essentially filled them as vessels, reanimating their bodies. The blaze that keeps them moving is a hateful one, and so they seek to burn the living...by detonating and spreading that flame to them. In other words, they're screaming, scorched, sprinting undead suicide bombers. ## General *The largest number of design cues for this will come from a preexisting monster from Drakengard 3 - [Galgaliel][dkg3-galgaliel].* That link will show up a lot. * **Vibe:** The goal is something grotesque, intimidating, inhuman/beastial. A human body, moving unlike like a human, but not "only" being a shambling corpse. The design (hopefully) makes clear that they're just barely held together. * The inelegance of a stereotypical zombie, combined with the ability to sprint and *detonate*. * **Figure:** Lean but muscular; the cause of death means that all of their body fat is gone, but their muscles are tougher than that. * **Pose:** That inelegance is probably going to be hard to demonstrate without motion or the implication of sluggishness, so "[burning rage][creature-corpse-burning]" (if you will) is a fine substitute~ * **Skin:** Tight on its body. Either brown a la [Galgaliel][dkg3-galgaliel], or dark grey in a "burnt"/ashen way, more along the lines of [this particular zombie][creature-zombie-burned]. ### Body * **Head:** No lips, nose, ears, or hair. * **Eyes:** Empty sockets, filled with flame. Cf. [Galgaliel][dkg3-galgaliel]. * **Mouth:** Wide, lipless (not necessarily gory - cf. [Galgaliel][dkg3-galgaliel]). Wisps of flame pour out from it. * I know I keep referencing that image, but I love the idea of flames (or similar) having essentially burned away the softest tissue in the walls of the mouth, giving it an even more skeletal look...or something like that. ### Effects * **Fire:** All of the fire, ideally, has a kind of purplish red at its tip, transitioning to something "more normal" (such as orange and yellow) through the middle and bottom. * [This image][jalter-fire] might help, though I'd like the purple to go farther. * **Markings:** Similar to [Galgaliel][dkg3-galgaliel] in concept. * Less perfectly straight/symmetrical. * Curves into something jagged in some places; may "leak" some fire. These partly indicate that the flames inside of them are on the verge of bursting out of their vessel, which would tear it apart. * Some of these should connect to (and/or seem to 'spread out of') something like [their creator's symbol][jalter-flag], as seen on her flag. (The smaller, simpler versions in the corners would be best.) * The fire struggling to consume the vessel is intense enough that parts of the markings have probably been widened by loss of skin - i.e., parts of the body that turned to ash and fluttered away. ### Other * **Clothing:** **If any, there is _very little_** - just a few scraps clinging to its body, probably fluttering in the updraft created by the raw heat emanating from it. * Nude would be better. No, there wouldn't be any genitalia left after what was done to them. Just having things be featureless and blank down there (think "Ken doll") is fine. ## Etc.
