Background:
- Developer an project manager
- Cofouder of Brian
- Formal Project Manager Master
- Financial and economics background
Work history:
- First startup he founded: Blockchain solutions for companies (offered tech like anon voting)
- Worked in EthereansOS with a "strong R&D approach"
Questions:
* What did strong R&D approach entail?
- Wanted to develop this OS, and develop all pieces from scratch. General purpose farming contracts in 2021; AMM aggregator. New standard called Item. They developed many things from scratch.
* What's your process for soft dev planning?
1) Breakdown the problem
2) Research how to technically solve the problem (create a spec doc)
3) Plan development: create a roadmap, divide it into milestones, list the necessary things to understand for the project.
4) Develop
5) Test
6) Gather feedback and re-evaluate scope.
7) Iterate
* How do you take the decision of reducing scope?
- Tagging features as main or stretch goals
- If you start working on something on web3, maybe in a short time, there'll be a new standard and there'll need to be changes. Adapt in a timely manner, and reiterate
* How do you deal with projects going off rails, like with an underperforming dev for example?
- 3 Options:
- Try to understand if even without a particular difficulty (like an underperforming dev) if the project is still deliverable with a bit less scope
- Ask for more help in a timely manner
- Split the workload of the underperforming dev among the rest of the team
