# Week 1 Update
Hello!
I am Jay, blockchain developer from India and I'm excited to join the EPF (permissionlessly).
This week I have gone through the consensus layer and the process flow of ETH2 with the help of epf.wiki and youtube.
I have gone through the EPF Cohort 6 projects and I looked up for the Rust based projects and I found reamlabs/ream client is available and then I started exploring about the Beam chain and how it is going to speed up the Eth development.
I believe that the concerns raised in the beam chain proposal are valid and the development is quite slow (for a reason obvisouly) and it would take a decade before the Ethereum can be moved to maintanence mode. So we should increase the pace of development and standardize it.
I have cloned the ream client into my system and was going through the codebase.
Next steps:
- Understand the consensus specs and stf on the client
- Going through the beamchain roadmap
