# ignacio (jsign) - Update 8 This week I made a report that explored the current Merkle Patricia Trie in mainnet collecting: - Average depths of the State Trie. - Average depths of Storage Tries. - Count of branch type frequency. - The average number of used slots in SCs (i.e., # of branches in State Tries) I shared the report with Guillaume, Kev, and Dankrad, and in #verkle-trie-migration. If you’re interested in seeing some plots, [you see the report here](https://hackmd.io/@jsign/geth-mpt-analysis). The above report is reproducible if you have a synced Geth node since the tool connects directly to the Geth LevelDB database to do the trie walks. The tool is also public for anyone; for more information, [see the README](https://github.com/jsign/verkle-vs-patricia#analytics) or, if interested, more details about [the implementation of the PR.](https://github.com/jsign/verkle-vs-patricia/pull/5)
