# My portfolio and guidance on copying it

## Introduction

I invest in ARK Invest ETFs, Holofuel tokens ($HOT), $IOEN, and her cryptocurrencies.

I will maintain a cash balance of at least 20% in order to keep my risk level at 6 or below, so that my portfolio can be continued to be copied as a Popular Investor, and the cash balance may increase during bull runs in order to reinvest during market corrections and bearish markets. I will manage risk by not keeping several positions open with a profit or loss of more than 30%. I will dollar cost average my investments over time.

## Guidance on copying

For copying all my trades, you can do so with as little as $200, the minimum amount for copy trading. For a growth strategy, I recommend investing at least 15% of your risk finances—finances that you can afford to lose—e.g. which you won't need to pay for necessary expenses in the short-term. If you have a higher risk appetite and want to see increased growth, then I encourage you to increase the weight of your portfolio that is allocated to copying my portfolio. Note that these are just suggestions, and they do not constitute as investment advice, as they do not consider your individual goals, financial needs or circumstances.

Note that there is also a potentially greater risk to investing in "safe" stocks, which are often really value-traps, because they face risk from disruption.

Based on the past performance of ARK ETFs since inception, and given that my portfolio will not be managed exactly in conjunction with ARK's management, please bear in mind that it might take as long as 18 months–2 years to make a profit from copying my portfolio, so be prepared to copy for that long, although it seems to be more likely that you will see returns in a shorter time e.g. a couple of months—so far I'm up 59% since July, as of Jan 20 2020. Due to my outsized positions in crypto, I aim to beat ARK Invest's performance, but albeit with higher risk and volatility—which also means that there may be larger drawdowns, so holding time may need to be longer, in order to see larger returns overall.

Traditional investment strategies are exposed to risks with disruption, particularly in the following areas:
- physical bank branches (which are exposed to disruption from fintech and blockchains)
- brick and mortar retail (which are exposed to disruption from eCommerce, drones, and robo-taxis)
- linear TV (which is exposed to disruption from live streaming)
- freight rail (which is exposed to disruption from autonomous EV trucks)
- traditional transportation (particularly ICE vehicles, which are exposed to disruption from autonomous electric vehicles, as is also short-haul aviation)

Three of their actively managed ETFs became available to trade on eToro via CFDs in late December. They are rebalanced daily, and are as follows:
- $ARKK: Disruptive Innovation, its model portfolio for providing broad exposure to disruptive innovation, including artificial intelligence, robotics, energy storage, DNA sequencing, and blockchain technology. This portfolio has seen an increase in price from 20.38 at inception in Oct 27, 2014 (or from an ATL of 14.95 on Feb 8, 2016) while currently trading near at a price of 145.28, near a recent ATH of 147.45. That said, the long-term trends are what ARK is more focused on, with a 5 year investment timeframe that aims for a doubling in returns every five years, or a minimum hurdle rate of 15%, compounded, on all of its holdings. Given the current bull-run, it seems likely that a correction may occur in the short to mid-term. Nevertheless, I will continue to increase my position in these ETFs as I gradually add more funds to my portfolio.

## Cryptocurrencies

I own Holofuel tokens and some other crypts.

Where can you buy Holofuel tokens? I buy on Coinspot in Australia. Other than that you can buy from [Orion Protocol](https://www.orionprotocol.io/), which aggregates exchanges (CEXs and DEXs) and swap pools.

There's also Uniswap which also has swap pools for it e.g. with ETH and USDT.

The former two are not blockchain-based, they are post blockchain cryptocurrency technologies. I think they have huge potential for exponential growth, as they have significant design advantages and use cases over blockchains.

### Why do I buy Holofuel tokens (HOT)?

By buying Holofuel tokens, I have outperformed ARK Invest (albeit with a higher risk), although that's done off eToro, and even if $HOT was available on eToro, my portfolio's risk level would be too high if I invested as much as I do in $HOT on eToro. http://rdaindex.com/ ranks $HOT top 1 by intrinsic value out of all cryptocurrencies. Currently the ratio between the RDA Price and the Market Price for $HOT is 182, suggesting a very large upside growth potential. It is my conviction that Holochain is poised to grow to become a framework for next generation internet technologies and fintech.

### What eToro needs to do for me to keep more of my funds on eToro:
- own the private keys to cryptoassets on eToro so that you can move them elsewhere
- add more cryptoassets, especially HOT and IOEN, as well as ones listed at rdaindex.com, which I use as guidance to select which cryptoassets to invest in
- add PRNT and IZRL. Then I don't need to move a small percentage of funds to hellostake.com, which has PRNT. Edit: ARKG and ARKQ have been available since 16 Feb. Also add HOT, DEC and crypto liquidity pools like Uniswap.
- add long call options, then I can trade with these in highly shorted stocks like SPCE, SPWR, and PLTR. Without bumping my risk score above 7 for trading less than 5 or 10% of my equity, or actually more than that if the positions grow larger in value. Then I don't need to move funds e.g. to TastyWorks.
- add a debit card (how long has it been "coming soon" now for? Since before I started here in July 2020?). A debit card that can be used to make payments with cryptocurrencies and fiat would be great. I like this: https://cryptonews.com.au/guides/best-crypto-debit-cards-for-australia. I tried to get a card via the crypto.com app but it requires me to purchase 500,000 CRO and hold it for 180 days. Edit: it costs 500,000 CRO for the Icy White card. After seeing that I just left the app and moved on! But I came back to it, and what I didn't realize is that each card has a different stake amount; with Ruby Steel having the lowest at 5,000 CRO ($949.95), then other cards with 50,000, 500,000 and 5,000,000.

As of Fri 26 3:04 PM AEST 500,000 CRO is worth $95616.64, which is a hefty amount! I have had a Coinjar card since 2018, but it isn't contactless. Signed up for the Binance card. Signed up for the Wirex card. Referral link: https://wirexapp.com/wirex-new-card/ref/1FZGDN. The [cryptopay card](https://cryptopay.me/bitcoin-debit-card/) is only available in the UK & Europe. - add tokenized socks like with [ftx.com](https://ftx.com). Then I can trade tokenized stocks any time, and not just during market hours for the stock.

### ARK ETFs, Bitcoin, and Ethereum show as CFDs rather than owning the underlying asset outright, what does this mean and how does it affect me?

**Outdated, these are now the underlying assets.**

Whether a security is a CFD or the underlying asset depends on your jurisdiction. For example, in the UK it is the underlying, while in Australia it is the CFD. You can trade CFDs without leverage; indeed, I have several trades in CFDs, including ARK ETFs, Bitcoin, and Ethereum, all of which are in CFDs, but without leverage.

You will have exposure to the price action of the underlying asset with a CFD. There are also no overnight fees in any of my CFD positions. The only apparent difference is that you wouldn't be able to transfer your CFDs to another broker, you would have to liquidate (close) the positions, withdraw funds, deposit funds in other broker, and open a new position. If eToro happened to go out of business, then the positions would be closed. Whereas if you owned the underlying asset, then you may have been able to transfer to another broker.
