# BBB Sync 09/21 ## Action Items * EthDenver folks to ping Bill on smart contract * Ben to send over images/filetype information to Laura for Sergio ## Documents Referenced [Project Proposal ](https://hackmd.io/dH7umlMIT2uCsIMc504BAA?view) [Design Options](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Gtelcb65JQoS6ze1jKt5fztSPX1RFufB/view?usp=sharing) ## Lightly Edited Meeting Notes [we had guests this week - JP is John, and LH is Laura] JL: Took two samples to Laura, she had great ideas and is workshopping some with Sergio JP: he’s the guy who did the bufficorn art - JP hired in 2017 BA: [walks through UI] JP: General comments - likes simple UX together. People to understand what’s going on in Web3 - big complement, lots of confusion in web3 Demo directionally - here’s where going. Want to know - when can he test it? Go through entire UX of it? Smart contract execution, end to end The visual stuff - technical stuff needs to happen between now and event Web3 perspective, all about usability - even tool tab. What would we explain? Get all UX details right - swapper. Easier parts BA: understands it, the clickthrough JP: want to see how look and feels. His job - stay true to vision, why’re we doing this. Biggest criticism with sporkdao - not so obvious what the utility is Make too quirky, too degenerate - hard to access. Even new person wants DC: new example of John’s going. JD: [lays out Roadmap - V0 ASAP, by ’23 but likely by Thanksgiving. V1 by ETHDenver] JP: fine roadmap, have in mind - optimize based on feedback. Private alpha launch - small about of user tester JL: yeah, v0 before v1. This will be the closed alpha JP: yeah, things fine. EthDenver going forward - people haven’t made the mental transition. It’d not just a conference - largest web3 festival, but going to be annual stakeholder meeting for sporkdao. BBB - build was birthed at EthDenver - want to canonize. This launch is going to get MainStage attention - we need to be presenting this with Josh. If this is the cadence we need to get it right and in perfection Really - mid feb for testing, 24th is the kickoff date Directionally looks great. Simple, clean - matters to him. So much crap in web3 is over engineered, but no one knows how to use it. Keep in mind - 40% of total attendee population is brand new. 28k apps last year, could only ticket 13k. New space this year Devcon had 13k apps for speakers. Stupid #s - builder community has grown a lot, ethdenver is super bowl of crypto. This swapper is one good example of not a conference - future experience. Largest live action web3 experiment. Things build - feel good about it. Plenty of time DC: when and how would you like to give us more fine grained design feedback? BA: verbally would be good then - unless JD: wait and see design after we get through Brand/Direction stuff with John BA: as soon as can get that feedback, want to work toward getting the click model. If background changes, all the other stuff will remain the same. Discuss those specifics - get to end point Laura: checked in with Sergio, want the images + filetype. BA: send those over - drop here in chat or in TG. Will have to doublecheck - it’s a repeating image, will get in TG JP: usually waits until Sergio does 1st pass - some stuff we can polish in. Way works with Sergio, it’s iterative - sometime it’s awesome and they ship, sometimes it’s from left field, have to steer back. Seeing that we have direction - want to reserve feedback until sees him Have to be on brand with buff family - year of the spork. Sporky will see everywhere around the venue. Buffigwei was last year. BBB - divergence in branding from core characters. There is the sporkmarmot, baseline is mostly buffs - area JD: we’re trying to use flavor text, can play up or play down. What’re your thoughts? JP: thinking about next chapter of lore, written few things over the years. Keep it simple Coauthors and them began pontificating in summer 2018 - after ethdenver 1, Don’t want people to get confused. Emotional response - it’s amusing. It’s charming, like it’s funny - not entertaining (trait swapper is entertainment). Want the UX to feel amusing. Even buff plushies are amusing Fine line between entertaining and corny as hell JD: tokenomics of $SPORK, how to position this JP: few ways - first is a POC. Can say it’s a low number, not trying to create economic outcome. Just want to create low barrier to entry Other - is take real economics of spork into consideration. Set 100 spork now is nothing - but if we accrue a bunch of value to spork, if it’s 100 of spork - is it something they want JL: imagine designed in a way to change a fee JP: it’s baked into contract, but can change. Depends on goals - for him, for newbies. If want them to play - not about $$$, it’s about utility. If it takes off, spork gets valuable DC: having it to be any spork significantly increases UX floor. If it was no spork- would be 1-2 main net transactions. With spork, need to have a way to acquire spork JP: any way to do it automatically? JL: want to avoid appearance of trying to sell the token - could set up as different entity JP: agree on UX standpoint. JL: teach to use liquidity pool JP: all about onramp, can we automate those things? e.g. when press a button on polygon to add RPC - done some of these things in Opolis too. Could even use bicotomy - funding their gas. Click bridge and bridges it. Need to think through process of what it’s gonna be. When JL says correctly agree, but not gonna do degenerate stuff. Back into UX - start here, check and see Matic - spork - can check in. Next gen JD: unlock would be to own the LP and streamline JP: when in decentralized land, if LP shows up - made quick automation to get in and out of LP, no proof DC - if took them offsite, get them back on JL: other examples gamified adding to LP. Put into wishing well - doesn’t need to JP: setting it up, JP has a ton of spork - could set up an unofficial pool. Do it on the side JD: takeaway is onramp is critical JP: yep all about usability BA: Laura, will check with Sergio? LH: yes, will. Similar to what we have. BA: instinctive response is to stop now until we have assets - LH: yes, don’t imagine it’s far off on design/timing - can ask to up the timeline BA: definitely before switch to building phase. Want to see as-is. Send over Discord? JD: DC’s comments? DC: click x on back, would prefer a more dense checklist where Rows are names of traits - would make it easier to fit all on a screen. Even argue to make it more dense, taller box, etc. Industry standard in web design. Dozen traits to select, wants to hit them all on the screen. BA: right to assume that it’s those traits? DC: no JL: no full set, fur, horn. BA: at least 8 DC: 2 cents JD: can do some A/B testing DC: mobile version? BA: Ben started doing mobile, far from JD: don’t think so in scope - don’t think people would use it, but can work in DC: depending on coding up UI - variety of screen widths, elements move around with that. Mobile comes in the box - BA: with amount of time that he estimated - mobile is foreseen, generally. Don’t know if that implies - JD: cool, just making sure DC: need to have for EthDenver debut - if it felt like out of scope BA: feeling as well, people would want to do it. easy for mobile wallet to switch? JL: okay not wasting time optimizing. Official wallet is MM- need to work on mobile browser. 99% of activity is on web DC: v stoked, understand waiting on graphics - but love how it’s going Laura set Sergio deadline for 28th/30th. Laura - loves it
