The report states that Messi arrived in Ecuador with Inter Miami and was given extraordinary hospitality. Not only did he stay in a presidential suite, but local authorities also arranged record-breaking security measures, with more than 500 personnel involved as Inter Miami prepared to face an Ecuadorian club.
Messi is currently on a South American tour with Inter Miami, and his every move continues to attract major attention. After defeating Atlético Nacional in Colombia, the MLS side arrived at the third stop of their tour — a match against Barcelona SC in Ecuador, described locally as a “historic clash.” Wherever Messi goes, he sparks huge excitement, prompting unprecedented security arrangements.
The Argentine star stayed in the presidential suite of the Oro Verde Hotel, a 156-square-meter space featuring a living room, dining area, marble bathroom, and jacuzzi, priced at around $800 per night.
Hotel manager Ricardo Feri revealed that the suite was not specifically requested by Messi, saying: “Messi is simple, friendly, and easygoing, with no special demands.” His diet strictly follows professional athletic standards, mainly consisting of fish, chicken, vegetables, and organic fruit, with very light seasoning.
The hotel also reserved several floors and rooms exclusively for the Inter Miami squad, setting up dedicated corridors and temporary partitions to prevent contact between players and other guests.
The most eye-catching aspect was the security operation. Fifty private security staff coordinated with national police, military forces, and club personnel to oversee Messi’s entire schedule. Additionally, 150 traffic police officers and 40 motorcycle patrol units were deployed, with all routes to rest areas, dining spaces, and meeting rooms under full protection.
Event organizer and Molina Group CEO Daniel Molina emphasized: “All security measures will be taken to the maximum level.” Ecuador has made meticulous preparations, welcoming the football legend with a reception worthy of a world champion.
