On his knee injury:
“The knee is gradually improving, heading in the right direction, unlike last year, and it will fully heal. The key is to recover while learning effective methods. There’s still pain, so you have to work to reduce inflammation and discomfort. We’re closely monitoring it because returning too early could risk a setback.”
On missing out on Giannis Antetokounmpo:
“I wasn’t part of GM Donlevy’s negotiations, but I know offers were made. As expected, no one got him. For us, the challenge is staying competitive, being a playoff threat, and finishing the regular season strong.”
On new addition Kristaps Porziņģis:
“I’m learning some Latvian. First, I want him healthy so he can perform on the court. He’s won a championship with Al Horford. While the environment is different, his familiarity, skill set, size, and presence are exactly what we’ve been looking for.”
On the team’s current situation:
“Trade deadlines are always delicate. Decisions have to be weighed carefully, especially with Butler’s injury. I’m excited about what Porziņģis brings. You saw the team’s effort tonight. We’re learning each other gradually. I’d prefer Butler on the court, but this is a challenge we must overcome as a team. Three weeks ago, we had momentum; now it’s stalled, and we need to find a way to get it moving again.”
